"The purpose of The Educational Process in Nursing Staff Development is to provide nurse educators with a single reference that describes both traditional elements of educational theory and practice together with a competency-based approach for application of that theory and practice to contemporary nursing staff development.
My rationale for combining traditional and competency-based approaches to instruction derives from a number of reasons.
some of these reasons account for the book's substantial emphasis on basic principles of education and adult education and others account for its focus on competency-based approaches to nursing staff development.....

Others who will find the book useful include directors of nursing staff development, human resource educators, unit instructors, preceptors, nurse managers, and directors of nursing at small- and medium-sized healthcare facilities.
