This book was used as a textbook for a graduate level research class. It was a great introduction. I still reference it to help guide me or to look for further references. It may be too elementary if you're a pro. However, it's very helpful and easy to use if you are new to researching.

Textbook companies have long be criticized for exploiting the education market. Paying over a $100 for a Kindle version of this text is simply reprehensible. The international student edition is available, new, in print, for less than 1/5 of this price.

PHU, the publisher, exists to maximize profits. Creswell, once an academic of strong standing appears to also have taken to this notion as well. Creswell, who has now chosen to continue to prostitute his work (now in the fourth edition) should be ashamed. What constitutes work worthy of a new edition? Merging chapters 1 and 2 and adding one ancillary antidote. That's it. Call it a new edition so the used editions no longer have any value on the market and wait for the pay checks to roll in. The Ethical Dilemma that was added was not in chapter three, but is Creswell's exploitation of the textbook market.

Creswell's continuance to exploit the market should remove him from any future consideration by instructors seeking a text on research methods. The purpose of scholarly work is not to make unjust profits on the backs of students, but to serve the advancement of the academy. In my opinion, Creswell no longer has the ethical standing to write on this subject and readers and instructors should look elsewhere. There are a number of open access and reasonably priced works that are as good (or better) than this title and who's authors have chosen to not maximize profits on the backs of students, but to serve the greater good over their own.

I just bought this book, and it arrived today. Now I know why it was so cheap. It's printed on very cheap newsprint paper. The type is faded already, and you can see right through the page the type that is on the backside of the page. This is very annoying, because it's hard to read when the text from the opposite side shows through in the front, and don't even think about using a highlighter for the paper will likely disintegrate with the moisture from the highlighter.

Don't buy this international edition crap,."International" just means it's printed on substandard paper. It probably is a knock off anyway. I wonder if the author and his publisher know about this rip off.

Usually when I order books,it takes me a whole to write a review. Let me first begin by saying that I needed this book in time to prepare for class and even though the delivery date was acceptable, the seller in response to an email request, rushed the order in time to complete an assignment. I've only read 1 chapter and so far I've found it to be a well written book that guides the reader step-by-step in educational research design.
