Got this toy for our daughter when she was 14 months old. She really did not care for it at first. But in 1-2 weeks she developed a strong interest in it. She really likes pictures on the blocks. We started to play a search game with this toy. Basically we ask her to find things on the spinning blocks. We look for simple shapes like zebra, apple, truck. This toy has other more complex pictures like birds nest that can be interesting for older kids. Some time we make this game harder by turning pictures away and she seems to like the challenge. She really enjoys this toy and frequently brings it to us to play this search game. Over all this is a really cute toy and it has really great developmental value. We like to read books and this toy is another calm interactive activity that lets us play together. Hopefully when she is learning the alphabet and numbers she will still like this toy.

I bought this toy for my son, now 20 months old. He is mildly interested in it now, but I look forward to seeing how his interaction with it changes as he gets a little older. I was originally looking for a regular abacus, as I thought he would enjoy moving the beads back and forth. But when I saw this, I was excited by the fact that it has letters, numbers, and pictures. We have done some sign language, and I thought it might be a good way to learn more signs and practice the ones we already know. The quality is great. He has been pretty rough with it, and caused no damage. (For some reason he likes to turn it on its side and sit on it like a horse.) I only wish it was a little bit bigger, so the blocks would actually move more like a regular abacus. Very cute. I think it is very worth the price.

I thought this toy would be great for learning the alphabet and I was right. The toy is just the right size for toddler hands and not so small that the letters and pictures are lost. The toy is colorful and sturdy.
My daughter (22 months) has a great time spinning the "beads" and naming the objects and animals pictured. She doesn't know the full alphabet yet but we have a great time saying all the letters and naming the pictures together.
