My 4 and 3 year old boys still play with this kitchen after two years. It's a good size, doesn't take up too much room in their small bedroom. It's multi-functional: kids fill it up with toys and cart it around. Our model didn't come with the towel handle on the right side, which I would've liked. Perhaps that was an update. It didn't have an odor upon opening, which was nice. It was easy to put together, the pieces were well crafted, everything fit smoothly. I was impressed with the quality, and I usually judge wood products critically. There's no damage, even with 4 preschool age boys using it regularly. My little one managed to unscrew the faucet, which would be easy to put back if I can only find out where he put the pieces.

This is THE SMALLEST KITCHEN ever created. My daughter received as a 1 year present. She was interested for a few months and is now over it. My son is 3 years old, and average height. He TOWERS over this kitchen. He also could not be more indifferent to it. When he plays w/ the Pottery Barn kitchen or the kidkraft at playdates, he comes home to this one and says that its "not a REAL kitchen" It is way too small and too basic for play. Painted on burners? Come on. I'm all for imagination, but this is just way too plain. If you want a kitchen for a child 12-17 months, get this. If you want a kitchen to "grow" with your family, get another model. Also, this is so small, it does not even store our play food and pots. We have 1 box of the melissa and doug velcro food, 1 box of hape condiments, and 2 pots....this cannot even fit that amount of food. We are buying the Pottery Barn all in one kitchen at Christmas. This won't even last us 1 year of play. I'll probably donate it to the baby nursery at our church...not even the toddler room. It is WAY too small. I should also mention that 1 child only can play w/ this kitchen. Put 2 kids in the mix and they are fighting over it because of how tiny it is.

Very tiny. Small. Dwarf size. Hobbit size. Only good for children 18 months to 3 years of age. And if it's a tall 3 year old then do not order this.

i just want to reiterate what others have brought up about the faucet and taps pulling out of the countertop way too easily. We bought this kitchen for our almost 2 year old and was concerned when setting it up that they could be pulled out fairly easily after some dedicated wiggling, thinking a 2 year old wouldn't have the finger strength...BUT what do you think the first thing he did was? Pulled the taps straight off with no trouble. So, I glued and clamped the taps and glued but couldn't clamp the faucet down. He's pulled the faucet off already but the taps are still on.

On the other hand, the sink being removable seems to add to the fun. Our boy likes to take it out and then put stuff into the hole.

All in all, he's having fun with it, pretending to cook and wash dishes -- and the salt and pepper shakers that make similar noise to the real thing is a nice touch.

I don't write many reviews but am so happy with how much my son enjoys this little kitchen set that I thought I should let other parents know about it. The kitchen is very compact and great if you don't have much space. I bought it for my office to give my son something to play with while he was at work with me. The size is perfect for younger toddlers. At 22 months, he is tall enough to stand over the stove and sink without difficulty. Many of the other sets I looked at are taller and more suitable for older toddlers. The set is sturdy and easy to use and has minimal features which I really like - more room for imaginative play and less nobs and levers to break off. The brand is actually Hape and I love all of their toys. Hape is made by EduCo.

This is a terrific "first kitchen" for kids under 3. It's sized right, and the bright colors seem to grab and hold their attention. My grand daughter is 18 months and absolutely loves this kitchen. Accessories like food and utensils are available. Everything is well made and durable. Very good value, Recommended.

in less than a month. I ordered this 3 weeks ago and one child is 16 month, the other is 18 months and both doors are already off the hinges; the screws didn't hold.
I have an issue with this as I don't have funds to get another kitchen and I don't do plastic toys. I will see if I can find all the little screws and glue them back into door otherwise this will be useless

Yes, you can get a toy kitchen at Ikea, but I would say that this one is really a great buy for smaller kids (4 and under). I do wish that it came with a couple of "kitchen items" and I also wish that it was made somewhere else. This item was made in China, which I didn't know until it was purchased. I know that this company has some pretty strict standards but still.
Never-the-less. I believe the quality is great and will last through a lot of toddler torture.

We have had this kitchen for about 1.5 years. It holds up very well. I don't have much more to offer that other reviews haven't said. I would reitreate - it is small - but that is great for us and our space. Our 3.5 year old still uses it all the time. It is annoying that the faucet and cold and hot water attachments come off - but we haven't lost them yet! The colors are bright and warm. When kids come over, they always gravitate towards the kitchen. I highly recommend the set of pots, plates, etc that do not come with it, but go with it. I would buy Educo toys again and again.

This is a great wood kitchen. It is lightweight, so it is easy to move to anywhere in the house. The combination of unpainted wood and painted wood is a good balance. The colors are nice earth tones. The cabinets open and have good storage for play food and pots and pans. There is even a little towel holder on the side. I appreciated one of the reviews posted that specified in detail the wood construction, which is accurate, the back and inside shelves are press wood, while the rest is solid wood. Overall for the price it has a lot of good details and for a non-toxic option it is affordable.
