I've looked through this book a hundred times (literally), and each time I find details in Hopper's paintings that add to my enjoyment. Some paintings that I love are the "Stairway" (mysterious), the "Two Puritans" (houses), "Gas" (very haunting), and "Solitude" (a lone house along a road).

Oh, and "Cape Cod Evening" (two people by the front door of a house while a collie looks at something). Very mysterious.

Highly recommended.

Wonderful book, very well written, the plates are gorgeous, the organization is perfect. I feel lucky to have this book.

Album bardzo bogaty w ilustracje, niestety czesto jest ich kilka na stronie. Jest w nim duzo reprodukcji rysunkow, szkicow, akwareli czego brakuje w innych wydawnictwach o Hopperze. Kupilem ten album w miekkiej okladce i to byl blad. Zdecydowanie wygodniejsza bylaby twarda okladka. Ksiazka typowo dla fanow tworczosci Hoppera.
