A singer to watch, listen and love continuously and forever., August 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Edyta Gorniak (Audio CD)
Since Edyta's introduction to the international stage via the dubious Eurovision Song Contest, (coming a very excellent 2nd - she did deserve to win), Edyta has shone like the star she will one day be. This album is a gem. Her voice whispers as well as it sours, she is as brilliant when she sings of love as she is of anger. There are various styles of song, and Edyta tackles all making them hers. An album I highlighly recommend. You may not recognise the name, but it's a voice u will never forget

Album Of The Year 1997, February 5, 2005
This review is from: Edyta Gorniak (Audio CD)
This is a first international album of one of the most popular artists of all-time in Poland. Her amazing voice makes her much better vocalist than Celine Dion or Mariah Carey. This version of the album contains 13 songs from standard version + all 3 bonus tracks from its Japanese edition ("Edyta Gorniak" first was released in Japan in 1997).
It was produced by famous Christopher Neil who previously worked with Celine Dion, Cher and many more great artists. Songs were written by such legends like Billy Steinberg, Rick Nowels, Climie & Fisher, Siedah Garrett, George Merill or Shannon Rubicam. The best songs were released on singles: moving "When You Come Back To Me", dance and catchy "Anything" or "One & One" (it was a huge hit for Robert Miles who released his version before Edyta, but Edyta was the first artist who recorded this song), amazing rock ballad "Linger" or duet with Jose Carreras in power ballad "Hope For Us". And the song "Perfect Moment" was covered by Martine McCutcheon and then topped the UK singles chart.
It's a great album full of hits. I think it's the best album released in 1997. This is an excellent proof of Edyta's talent. She should conquer the whole world!

Golden Heart, Golden Voice, July 28, 2005
This review is from: Edyta Gorniak (Audio CD)
Edyta Gorniak is Poland's greatest vocalist and one of the best singers in the world; had she been born in the U.S., she would've been as huge as Mariah or Celine. Edyta's voice is just as rich as theirs, but unlike the "divas", she doesn't tend to sing over the top, so while listening to her, we're pleased with strong, powerful vocals, however not harmful to our ears. Throughout every song, Edyta tells the story, delivers a message and a whole variety of emotions. Twists and turns - that's what Edyta's best at - one moment she may seem delicate and vulnerable, just to showcase her true strength unexpectedly and give you chills. No wonder Edyta was chosen for a singing voice of Pocahontas in Polish version of one of the greatest Disney classics. By the way, she did a marvellous job - just listen to it and you'll be taken your breath away. What's more, Edyta was a star of the best known Polish musical, Metro, which even made it to Broadway in the 90's! With the song "To nie ja" (featured on the "Dotyk" cd) Edyta nearly won Eurovision Song Contest, gaining the second place and shining brighter than anyone.
"Edyta Gorniak" is the first of her two international albums. It offers beautiful heart-touching ballads and uplifting up-beat tracks, so you can see how versatile Edyta is. All the songs are wonderfully arranged and perfectly produced, not to mention Edyta's singing is just top-notch. My personal favorites are "Anything", "One&One", "Perfect Moment" and "Gone".
I assure you that you'll be impressed by this album and will get fascinated with Edyta!
