Efalex - an advanced combination of Omega-3 and Omega-6 nutrients
Efalex is a unique formulation that contains carefully selected fish oil rich in DHA and Efamol Pure Evening Primrose Oil, which are excellent sources of omega-3 and omega-6 nutrients. The combination of the DHA, EPA, AA and GLA fatty acids that they contain play very important roles in the healthy functioning of the brain and eyes.
An adequate dietary intake of these essential "good fats" will support all aspects of brain and eye function including learning ability, concentration and co-ordination.
Nutrition and brain and eye function
Essential fatty acids, like vitamins, cannot be made by the body and so must be included in the diet. The body converts essential fatty acids into long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPs), which form part of the membrane around and within every cell in the body and play an important role in eye and brain activity.
Fat in its various forms makes up about 20% of the bodyweight but the brain contains an even higher percentage - 60%.
