Format: Paperback
Paying the currently listed prices (>76 for both used and new) for this book is pure madness! Yes it acts as a great guide to the proper formulation of a business plan, but it should not be available only at the aforementioned prices!

More About the Author

Michele K. Masterfano is President of Michele Masterfano Marketing, Inc. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of entrepreneurship at Drexel University's LeBow College of Business. Prior to this, she held several positions of increasing responsibility at AT&T.

At Masterfano Marketing, she is responsible for developing and revising business and growth plans, performing strategic analyses, and market research. She will also provide interim executive services to select companies on a part-time basis.

Ms. Masterfano has written and revised/refined dozens of business plans for entrepreneurial firms. She has also assisted companies in launching new products and services, first performing the market research, and then developing product launch plans, in conjunction with colleagues, that included internal and external communications, recommendations on advertising venues, and press and analyst information packages. She has also assisted clients in their supply chain management operations. She has worked with companies of all sizes, from Federal Express and United Airlines to several entrepreneurial ventures that were still in the concept stage.

Ms. Masterfano has also analyzed numerous companies' operations and financials to determine their future viability. For a utility services company, she analyzed all contracts, valued all assets, and scrutinized the operating margins to determine the potential to turn around a division that was losing money. She also investigated the ability of a veterinary products manufacturer to re-build a lost market after a catastrophic event closed the business for several months.

In working with entrepreneurial ventures, she has written, reviewed and updated dozens of business plans for start-up companies, recommending and implementing changes to improve the chances of receiving financing. She was a judge in the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School's business plan competition for several years. In addition, she is on the planning committee and a judge for the annual Angel Venture Fair in Philadelphia; she also coaches the selected companies on how best to present to potential investors.

Ms. Masterfano has almost 30 years of operational experience in business, with an emphasis on business and strategic planning as well as analytical marketing techniques. Her work has also included business development and technology analysis. She was responsible for the development of international business plans for the AT&T telecom equipment business, now part of Alcatel Lucent, where she worked with five business units to develop their plans for market penetration in many countries around the world.

As a member of the faculty at Drexel University, she teaches a broad range of courses in entrepreneurship. She has also been a member of the adjunct faculty at Villanova University, Ursinus College, and Lehigh University, where she taught a variety of marketing, management, and entrepreneurship courses.

Ms. Masterfano holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Argosy University Sarasota, with specialties in Marketing and Management, as well as an M.S. degree in Management Science from Lehigh University, an interdisciplinary program in Industrial Engineering and Business. She also has a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Pennsylvania State University. She has been a member of American Mensa, and served as both Vice President and Treasurer of the Delaware Valley Chapter. She is a member of the advisory board for the fashion marketing program at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, and has served on the Board of Directors of WIN, an organization that supports women who own and lead high-growth businesses. She was also a board member and founding treasurer of the Penn State Professional Women's Network of Philadelphia.
