Usefull, maybe too simple, January 31, 2007
This review is from: Effective Letters for Business, Professional and Personal Use: A Guide to Successful Correspondence (Paperback)
Actually, when buying this book I expected some advices and examples, but the book is "examples only". Which is not necessary bad, but... I still expected more "meat".
Anyway, the book is useful, I used it more than once when I needed to write some important message and had no time nor inspiration to make it simple and to the point. Of course, in some cases you have to be careful and have in mind that some examples are applicable only for United States, but not for Europe too (i.e. some motivational letters for job applications in Europe could sound more funny than serious, but...), but even in that situation, I guess it's better with this book than without it.
In general, content is useful, it saves time, but you still have to think about what, and whom are you writing to. But, I guess that you should do it anyway.

A little dated and not concise enough., July 17, 2011

If you have some upper-level education this book is useless. It is only a general ref. Purchased it for a $1.
