5.0 out of 5 stars Informative, well written, and dense with practical advice., October 14, 1998

This review is from: Effective Medical Testifying: A Handbook for Physicians, 1e (Paperback)
I'm a practicising architect and picked up this book on a lark. I was very surprised that the subject matter had relevancy to my profession as well. It is extremely well written, dense with information, and arranged so that the reader does not fall asleep on so serious a topic. The authors make remarkable common sense, and offers a wealth of advice, by branching their wisdom, rather than reworking and reiterating the same theme over and over again. Since one of the authors is a notable clinical psychologist, it was interesting that each participant in a theoretical courtroom case was mind analyzed, from the juror, to the defendant, to the prosecutor, to the expert medical witness. By understanding the role, mind sets, and goals of each participant, one understands the nature of the beast, and thereby will be comfortable, and achieve success in a courtroom scenario. The book is advice specific and provides many courtroom dialogues to digest. The applications of this book are more far reaching than just for the "expert medical witness".
