Product Description

Quirky and GE comes the Wink Egg Minder Smart Egg Tray that adds a new level of intelligence to your everyday lives and the kitchen. The Egg Minder features a built-in Wi-Fi chip to allow it to sync up to your smart device via the Wink app. Once paired with your smartphone or tablet you can now open the app from anywhere to view how many eggs you have which can be incredibly handy on impromptu grocery shopping trips or if you simply just don't think to check on your egg count before heading out the door. This alone is very convenient but the Egg Minder can still do more. In the actual egg crate next to each egg is an LED light that will alert you to which egg of the bunch is the oldest and should be used next and when that egg is removed from the Egg Minder the next oldest will be indicated and so on. The Egg Minder will also communicate with you through various push-notifications to alert you to when an egg has gone bad, an egg is close to going bad, and even set the Egg Minder to notify you when you are running low on eggs. The Wink app will allow you to choose at what amount of eggs left you want to be notified since a family of five is more likely to run out of eggs quicker than someone living on their own. Up to 14 eggs can be stored in the Egg Minder at one time and to keep the eggs safe while in your refrigerator it also comes with a protective covering. It is powered by two AA batteries (included) and is compatible iOS 6 and above, iPhone 4 and above, and Android OS 2.2 and higher

Ever been out on a brisk walk trying to work out the stress from the day and then suddenly been hit with a wave of anxiety wondering just how many eggs are in the fridge and what condition they might possibly be in? Well, with the egg minder those panic attacks are for ever behind us. This product works anywhere too, so we can check on our eggs from the John, or the back of a police car, or even from in the emergency room, because those warning signs to turn off all cell phones are just stupid.

The Eggminder will set all of our hearts and minds at ease. Our dreams of a more peaceful world are at hand.

Thank you Eggminder. Thank you.

Cautionary tale...

I am a mother of three without a lot of time. After my husband left us, I was forced to return to work as a paralegal. With two kids in highschool and another in middle school, needless to say, I am one busy lady!

Rejoining the work force and managing three beautiful (but busy!) kids with all their extra curricular hobbies, I was finding myself way too strapped for time. I decided that I needed some help. That's when a girlfriend suggested I get an egg-monitoring app. Egg-monitoring?! But I'm pre-menopausal!! I exclaimed.

Not THOSE eggs... lmao lol... The kind you scramble with bacon!

I was dubious. There's no way this could save me that much time. I mean, counting, monitoring, and recounting eggs in the fridge is a millenniums-old practice. No way this could get revolutionized! But after a few weeks of research, I was convinced. This was my way of FINALLY having a enough time to "have it all" (except a husband - who needs em!) But, like I said, three kids... new job... money was tight.

Well, I was out for a little power-walk through Chinatown, when I passed by a booth with a bunch of "as seen on TV" knockoffs. And there it was! An egg monitor app and tray! And for PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR versus what I'd seen at all of those high-end boutique egg tray stores. I slapped down my money, took the tray, and never looked back! That is, until...

Weeks later. I'm driving to a deposition. I know I have to pick up my youngest from cheerleading practice, when OH MY GOSH! I HAVEN'T COUNTED THE EGGS TODAY! I about get in fifteen different accidents trying to u-turn on a bridge in order to make it home and count my eggs, then chemical test for freshness and re-order based on age in the tray.

I'm vegan so I don't buy eggs. Nevertheless as soon as this Wink App-Enabled Smart Egg Tray hit the market I bought it. Now, no matter where I am, no matter what time of day or night, I can check the app and verify that there are NO EGGS in my refrigerator. Phew! I am one happy vegan now! Great product! Can't wait for them to release a companion product to reassure me that there's no meat in my refrigerator either.

I will keep this short and simple. I bought this darn thing to help me out because I have been doing this manually for years. I have a spreadsheet and a sharpie. When an egg comes home from the store I create a new row in the spreadsheet, then write the number on the egg. Then I place the egg in the tray and go back to the spreadsheet to update the row. So many times I forgot which egg went in which hole, until I started putting the numbers on the top of the eggs. Then a friend conveniently bought this for me.

I can tell you that it was wonderful until I bought my second dozen of eggs. The second dozen threw me for a loop. I had 14 spots and 15 eggs. I didn't know what to do, so I created a new spreadsheet and used the cheese drawer to store the eggs. Then my wife accidentally got some more eggs because she went to the store at the same time. Now we have more eggs in my drawer.

The ink started to smear on the cheese and the drawer itself. I have tried everything. Can someone recommend a good sharpie remover for eggs, cheese and drawers? What we have been doing is eating the eggs out of this tray, then looking for an egg to move to it. Damn it, I have ink on the bottom of my hand! [expletive!] I didn't see that.

OK I am back. I washed it off my hand. Thank goodness for good old SAW.

OK. I am back again. Back to my review. I was Aw s*** I have it on my jeans too. I must have wiped it on them when I was opening the drawer.

Does anyone know how to get egg sharpie off jeans? These are blue jeans and the sharpie is black. I used the medium point sharpie. I really recommend the medium point sharpie as it does a wonderful job and isn't too wide. My favorite is black, but I have been known to venture into blue territory.

I used to have too much money, just sitting there, in the bank. Rotting.

But after buying the Eggminder Internet Connect Egg Tray... I don't have that problem anymore!

Highly recommended!

Ever opened your fridge to find shivering baby chicks where you thought there were only eggs? Tired of chick soup for breakfast instead of omelettes? No more!

Thank God for the egg minder. Opening egg cartons-looking at expiration dates-who needs that kind of stress in your life!? The egg minder has saved me COUNTLESS seconds. I feel so sorry for the people who still have to open their egg cartons, count their eggs, and look at expiration dates. They truly are living in the dark ages. I would be lost without my egg minder.
