Adorable quirky fun,

This review is from: Egg Story (Paperback)
This short but engrossing story about five young friends has romance, action, loss, madness, and personal transformations. I loved it. The art is simple but the characters have so much personality in the way they are drawn.
Anyone who is looking for a cute story which is much more detailed than one would at first think about a story involving eggs should pick this tale up.

A very original story, that is sweet and unexpected. The artistry contrasts simple and effective nicely. A fun read, and an extravaganza for the eye.

This review is from: Egg Story (Paperback)
Egg Story is quite an adventure in showing what a few eggs get up to as they fight for their freedom from the frying pan. It is intense, scary, amusing, exciting and intriguing. The pictures are great and very well detailed.
I recommend this comic book story to anyone who is up for a good adventure.

Sharp, clever, charming,

Cute and funny and black, but oddly sophisticated when it needs to be. There's as much depth as there is charm to this coming-of-age story, which is handled subtly and humorously and without sugarcoating the harsh realities of life.
The art's terrific. Schmidt's graphic storytelling is sharp and clear. His spare linework transitions elegantly and intelligently from cartoonish to a more draughtsmanlike style without ever resorting to trickery or flash; even as the escalating surrealism of the story is handled with grace and style. Like the writing, the art is very honest honest and open. Egg Story is short but briskly paced. Every scene just long enough to leave you wanting more.

A HIGHLY recommended short graphic novel,

Egg Story is a HIGHLY recommended short graphic novel. I guarantee you won't look at eggs, or food in general, the same way again. The novel is able to be both sweet and horrifying as it explores the lives of eggs that discover the world doesn't understand they are sentient. As you might expect, they don't appreciate their place on the food pyramid. I don't have anything negative to say about this story, except, where are some new Egg Stories? Something of this quality, a book that shows us the heights comics and graphic novels can achieve, demands a sequel. Perhaps some new sales would encourage Mr. Schmidt? So maybe I should just say, buy this now, on Amazon, at [...]/, somewhere! You won't regret it!
