I can't believe the negative reviews on this. The only one that could not get this to work in our house was my 6 yr old but my 11 yr old and I had no problems. The kids loved using it and even said it looked like a chicken laying an egg.Worked with no problems at all. You have to make sure the top of the egg has the hole pierced through the skin and the bottom when you tap it on the table is tapped good and a little bit of force when pushing it through... Peeled a dozen eggs in 5 mins.. and thats with 2 kids in the mix. Love this product!

It takes a while to get the hang of it, but, once u do, it's easy and works about 99.9 % of the time. Here are a few of my own suggestions: 1) make sure a complete hole is cracked through small end of egg ( must include skin of egg). 2) MOST IMPORTANT LESSON--make sure "large end of egg" is cracked plenty---why?--bz this is the part that the whole inside of egg pushes through. 3) give this a real hard push on ur kitchen counter 4) also, make sure egg is dry
AGAIN, make sure FAT END OF EGG is plenty cracked---works for me and is soooo much easier than peeling them ur self. Good luck :) BUY NEW!!!-wears off after a while!

Ridiculous and useless,
This review is from: Eggstractor Easter Egg Peeler (Misc.)
My seventy-year-old father-in-law bought this, apparently believing the ads: no more peeling eggs until your fingers bleed, as if that has even been an issue. He didn't have the arm strength to make it work. My husband had no problem getting it to work, but it does take considerable force. And mangled our eggs. So much quicker and simpler to just peel them under running water. I've done up to a dozen at a time BY HAND with no major issues. The key to an easily peeled egg is to use old eggs--the fresher they are, the harder they are to peel. However, I must say the entertainment value of this contraption was well worth the price my father-in-law paid. We laughed and laughed...

I was so looking forward to this product only to be disappointed. I read the directions carefully as well as the customer comments about how to use this device. After 30 minutes, I couldn't get one egg peeled. Why should it be this hard for a device that's essentially, two plastic pieces? I can peel the eggs by hand and not experience the frustration for why the Eggstractor didn't work. Prior to purchasing the product I read some of the negative reviews but figured the writers didn't use the product correctly. Well, I've become one of those people even though I read the directions, read the tips from the positive reviewers, tried many eggs, and spent 30 minutes. Why would so many of us be having the same problem and writing about it, if there wasn't something to what we're saying? Save yourself the hassle.

If you want to save money, and NOT have to buy this item, use this trick, which I got from a professional cookery magazine. To peel hard-boilt eggs quickly, CRACK THE SHELL A BIT, BEFORE PUTTING IT IN ICE WATER, OR UNDER COLD WATER. Doing this will get the ice water/ cold water, IN BETWEEN THE EGG AND THE SHELL, and not just be on the outside. Bingo -- you eggs are peeled almost as quickly as the "eggstractor" can do it. Of course, if you have 100 eggs or so to peel, then maybe the Eggstractor is a good purchase! (To be fair, however, I must mention that, if you peel eggs without the Eggstractor, you have to get your own egg-slicer, which is included free, if you buy the Eggstractor.)

Junk,

If you want the excitement of receiving a great product, thats as far as it goes. I tried a dozen eggs just for fun. The ones that peeled were barely good enough for egg salad (after i separated the exploded shell). Does not work, no matter what people are claiming. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME.

Cute idea. I am getting about half of the eggs I try to actually shell correctly. That's half that I would have to do by hand, but still a low percentage. But for the price, it was worth the risk.

Doesn't work, but worth a laugh,
This review is from: Eggstractor Easter Egg Peeler (Misc.)
I bought this elsewhere for much less. I bought it knowing it wouldn't work very well, and indeed it does not. Enough force to get a guaranteed result makes a guaranteed mess. Randomly, it does what it claims. When it fails it tend to be spectacular, with bits of egg everywhere or whole eggs scooting off in unexpected ways.
Construction is flimsy. If it were more solidly constructed it might be a little less random. We get our eggs fresh from a nearby farm, so if, as other reviews note, it works poorly with fresh eggs, then I can expect more of the same. But randomly chaotic results can be entertaining, so by all means, if you don't much care what happens and are ok with eating mostly-exploded eggs, you may find it fun. You can take bets on the outcomes. It beats what's on TV many nights. NOT suggested for serious kitchens, the humorless, or anyone living within sight of a flock of vengeful chickens.

I still can not get this to work. It is hard to get an egg to come out looking right. Most of the time I blow up the egg totally, or half the egg is still in the shell, plus it makes a BIG mess on the counter. I really wish I could return this to get my money back!
