Excellent theory and practice of psychoanalytic therapy,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Ego and Analysis of Defense (Hardcover)
This collection of 25 years of writings describes Gray's approach to "close following" of the immediate present in "essential psychoanalysis" and intensive psychoanalytic psychotherapy. His method is difficult but the results are compelling. All therapists should read this. People who consult therapists might also be interested in matching their therapies with Gray's admittedly difficult standard.

This review is from: The Ego and Analysis of Defense, Second Edition (Paperback)
The value of this book to anyone interested in the thoughts of a master clinician and theorist can't be overstated. The buyer should be aware, however, that the later edition of the book (paperback version) contains four additional articles that aren't in the original, hardback edition
