everything he touches is gold. ego-trip is probably his best work (inevitable alien nation is very close). his eclectic sound crosses many genre categories but it is pure electronica. a must have for any fan of eletronica!

I first started listening to Keoki with the release of Disco Death Race 2000. That was one of my first techno CDs, and I still listen to it. I've been getting his stuff ever since.

One of the things I respect about Keoki as a musician is that, despite the "Superstar DJ" moniker, he doesn't approach his music like he thinks every bleep he creates is going to make you swoon. He makes sure his music is interesting from first beat to last.

In contrast, a lot of recent techno seems to consist of tracks that are 'dubbed out', which to me is a euphemism for bad mixing and muddy sound quality. Much of the rest consist of a loop that isn't interesting for a minute - let alone eight. When Keoki makes long tracks, he's got the ideas to keep them afloat. And his sound quality is always first rate. Because of these things, you end up wishing his songs would keep on thumping forever!

Regardless of what you think of Keoki, I can't see how anyone could deny that this CD is what great techno is all about. He has an easily recognized sound. Each track is unique but they all have powerful beats, high energy, wild sounds/samples, housey chants - what more could you want from this type of music?!?

Tracks are joined together as if it were a mix CD, but the material is all original. You can listen to it or just dance, either way it works. I love speeding down the freeway to "Wicked" and "Crash". I could dance for hours to "Blow". And "Caterpillar" is still as great as listen as it was when it came out (how many years ago??).

This is one of my favorite techno CDs. His over the top production and energy level are irresitable. (Plus, I think he's sorta cute, though you can't tell by the photos on this one). "Give me a big kiss!"

This cd was truly innovative for the time period, also Keoki was trying to accomplish what no other DJ had really done before, become a superstar by singing instead of dj'ing. (Enter Miss Kittin) Put this together and he would have been very succesful. Unfortunately MTV never found Keoki airworthy and he is now bitter and pretty much out of the scene. :(
