3.0 out of 5 stars it's not magic
I read reviews about this product and most of them reassure you that the oils of the product will soak up in your skin even if you have typically oil skin like mine. It didn't really soak up even if I used a small amount, and it left me with some white-heads and caused me to break out. I wouldn't recommend it for the face if you have oily skin, BUT it did work pretty well...

I have been using Egyptian magic for the last 4-5? years as my night cream. I am 42 years old and have virtually no wrinkles. I always moisten my face first with a spritz of witch hazel mixed with rose water (I mix together in a mister)then emulsify the egyptian magic in the palm of my hand. It spreads easier all over face and neck. I also like to put it in my hair (small amount) after washing while still wet, then it combs out easily and makes my curls softer and shinier. It works great on dry hair (tiny amount rubbed in palms of hands) as defrizzer and shine booster. I also enjoy it as a hand/cuticle cream and lip balm. you can also use it as a female moisturizer or lubricant. I love that it has no artificial ingredients or preservatives. Remember, honey is naturally antibacterial. I am sold for life! It is expensive at whole foods, but I sometimes see a deal on amazon. just check the shipping charge first...sometimes you may notice a much smaller price only to realize the shipping charge makes it as much as the other "expensive" looking prices. I love this stuff and the jar does last quite a long time. Oh, by the way, I did try to make this at home once and it turned into a blob of sticky mess. I must have put too much bees wax when melting it down. The chemistry must be exact to get the consistancy of the original product.

5.0 out of 5 stars It Really Is Magic!, December 20, 2007

This is my second order for this amazing stuff! I use it on my lips, nails and cuticles, hands, dry areas on my face, elbows, feet, and sometimes as a hair product. Do Not Hesitate To Purchase! When I got my first container, I thought it would be greasy because it looks more like an ointment than a cream. But, it matches the natural lipids in the skin so well, it literally soaks right in and leaves such smooth, soft, and healed skin behind. No scent so can be used by both men and women.

I do not use this product. I have watched my wife use it over nearly 2 months and I want to share the results with you now.

My wife of 22 has struggled with acne since she was 13. It hasn't been what I would call severe as she has never had to go to a doctor for it but noticeable none the less. (Enough to say she has acne.) While she still has to deal with it, this cream has made a huge difference. She puts it on after washing her face before bed. She sleeps with is on her face all night.

Since using this her face has cleared up very noticeably. While she still has pimples, she only has about 1/4 of the amount she had before she started using this. A BIG change is the red blotches, scars, and constant problem areas have seemed to disappear entirely. WOW!!!

I wouldn't call this a miracle cream but it works for my wife. I hope someday (the sooner the better) her face will clear up entirely, but until then this stuff helps keep it under control.
She is a beautiful woman. I love her with everything I am. Thanks for reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, but have a good cleanser!, July 27, 2009
This review is from: Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream Facial Treatment, 4 Ounce (Misc.)
A little about me:
-My reason for buying: to use as a moisturizer for my face and treat ends of my hair
-My skin type: Combination (Oily t-zone (acne prone) and normal cheeks and chin)
-No skin conditions and No allergies

My experience with EM:

First two days were fine. Made my skin smooth and hydrated. On the third day, I had spots on both cheeks and chin (itchy red pimples and dry flakey cheeks mainly around those itchy pimples). I thought it was odd, so, I tried using a clay mask to get rid of the spots, and I noticed that no oil of any kind came from around the breakout area. So, I stopped using the EM since it was the newest facial product that I tried. Then, I tried my old facial cleanser (Note: Cleanser that I used while using EM was Botanics deep skin brightening cleanser. The one I switched to was Clean and Clear Deep cream cleanser) and it cleared up the dry spots and blemishes overnight by about 40%. So, I tried the EM again, and my face didn't break out. It kept it very hydrated and works great!

What I use it for now:

- Nighty moisturizer for face
- Lip balm
- Cuticles
- Hand Moisturizer
- Heal scars (works best on recent scars from what I've seen)
- Eye cream
- Treatment for ends of hair

My pro and con list:

Pros:
- Works well for all the things mentioned in list above
- Lasts a LONG time
- 6 natural ingredients
- Not water based, so consistency doesn't change much

Cons:
- Smells faintly like iron (personally doesn't bother me)
- Packaging is very cheap looking
- Pricey (especially for those using it for skin condition)
- Comes in a tub (Unsanitary)

My verdict: LOVE IT! I'm probably going to use this for the rest of my life so long as they make it as is or better. So, I definitely recommend Egyptian Magic, but only if you have a good enough cleanser! (And remember, I used a drugstore brand!)

If you haven't discovered Egyptian Magic yet, this skin cream is marvelous. It's worth every penny - a four ounce jar will last you forever since there's no water in it, it's a very concentrated and rich emulsion of olive oil, beeswax, royal jelly and other natural ingredients. It makes a fantastic lip balm or gloss, it heals uncomfortable dry patches anywhere on your body, it softens cuticles, it makes a great eye cream when my eyes are irritated by allergies. It is a little rich and heavy for a regular face moisturizer for me (my skin is normal although it's a little dry in the winter), although from time to time if my face is feeling tight I will dab on a little at night. I have even used it on my dog's ears when he has scratched and irritated them! (I wouldn't use it anywhere he could lick, though - I think it probably smells and tastes too tempting).

I bought this in my continuing quest for something to help my atopic dermatitis (a form of eczema that is an allergic rash that itches and causes dry, flaky and leathery skin). The best stuff the allergists/dermatologists can come up with is Eucerin, which gives doctors samples by the bucket. Well creams won't touch my eczema. This stuff (which is really a solid that melts to an oily consistency on contact) works beautifully. I'm not a fan of the smell, but I love that it's all natural and I LOVE what it does for my skin. It coats and protects the skin, locking in moisture and letting the skin heal. My skin is so much better now, and whenever I feel like scratching, I just put more of this stuff on. My skin hasn't looked this good in two years. I think I'm in love.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Stuff but Pricey!, April 5, 2008
By
SFSlug "theSFSlug" (the Golden State of California, USA) - See all my reviews
I love the plain list of ingredients in this salve. It's simply olive oil, beeswax, honey, bee pollen, royal jelly, bee propolis and love. Yes, it says that on the label. I've heard you can make your own version at home, which is probably true since the ingredients aren't complicated. This stuff does not smell like something you want to eat, but has a sharp natural smell to it instead. It doesn't smell like honey, either. I'm fine with that because this stuff is a great a night time moisturizer for my face. It's too greasy for daytime use as far as I'm concerned. But for night, well, I love the way it sinks in and that there's no worrisome ingredients (I use mostly natural products). I have sensitive, acne-prone combination skin, and this is so good at soothing redness and fading acne scars. It also speeds up the healing of existing blemishes. It's got the texture of a hard lip balm, so if you just drag your fingertips across the top and warm it up in your hands, that's enough product for your face. You have to massage it in, your face will look greasy and all, but it has never caused any break-outs on me. It has literally tons of uses listed on the jar, the only other purpose I've used it with success is as a spot de-frizzer for my hair when it's dry. EM is not good as a lip balm though, just pretty basic, and it does not help with bruises as far as I've experienced. I did have a bad cold awhile back that left me with a red, peeling nose, and this stuff did an incredible job of taking care of it within a couple days. Awesome. I feel that this stuff is overpriced for what it is, a salve made out of mostly household ingredients, but a 4 oz tub will probably last me at least six months. And that's with using it every night. It costs $[...] at Whole Foods, so I'll probably order from amazon.com next time. It's got so many uses that I recommend it and feel it's a great buy and a medicine cabinet staple, especially for people trying to use natural products.

WOW! It looks like Vaseline, smells faintly of herbal tea, feels like oil but melts into the skin and disappears. It really absorbs right in with no greasy after feel. I have combination/sensitive skin and it really balances everything out. I am VERY picky about what goes on my face, but this stuff is amazing!!! I work in skin care so I have tried everything- I am now a convert. I ran a little through my dry hair too, just to see what it would do, and it totally tames frizz and adds tons of shine. I am truly stumped. As my grandmother jokingly used to say.."how do it know?" This stuff seriously works.

3.0 out of 5 stars Buy Blessed Sweet Bee Magic instead. Seriously!, August 27, 2011
This review is from: Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream Facial Treatment, 4 Ounce (Misc.)
So I read all these fabulously impressed reviews about Egyptian magic cream ; which sold me to buy it because the price is a bit intimidating and otherwise I wouldn't have.
So I went to Whole Foods to purchase this product and right next to it I saw "Blessed Sweet Bee Magic" healing cream which had the exact same ingredients list. Hm. So after thinking about it, I went with the bee magic which has a slightly more oily consistency then the egyptian magic. Anyways; later that day my mom picked up the Egyptian magic to try so now we have both the egyptian magic and the bee magic to compare. First let me say Egyptian magic lives up to these reviews. Its amazing. I don't have a negative thing to say about the product other than that it is over-priced and I'm finding it doesn't rub into an oil as fast as everyone seems to be saying..

The bee magic; I use it as an under eye treatment, my eyes are as though I've never seen the sun- that flawless. I'm soooo impressed. I didn't find the Egyptian magic did all that much as an under-eye cream, but I'm sure it did, just not as amazing as the bee magic; which is the cheaper of the two.

Either way; I put the cream all over my body, heels, feet, elbows, hair treatment, eye-lash lengthener, lip balm, skin-tone-evener, anti-frizz serum, tan legs, tips of my hair for split ends. I prefer to use the bee magic to the egyptian cream but I have both right now so I kinda switch em up; with bee magic on my face more. I haven't found either have broken me out and they definitely get rid of scars and all that uneven marky stuff.

IIIII LOVEEE THESE INGREDIENTS.

********* Bee magic is all organic. Egyptian magic is not.
Go with the Bee magic for a better price and a better product.
I am not saying Egyptian magic isn't amazing, because it is!
I'm offering a better alternative though ;)
