Grade 3-5-- A book with an annoying format. Each two-page illustrated chapter is titled with a question, e.g., ``Who Were the Egyptians?'' ``Did the Egyptians Eat Well?'' The 17 chapters, which cover such topics as religion, warfare, farming, and rulers, provide standard information, adding nothing original. Color photographs and illustrations are adequate, but again the same kind of thing can be found in many other books about Egypt, and is much more attractively displayed in Ancient Egypt (HBJ, 1989) by George Hart. I found this book to be a great primer for my kids to learn about anicent Egypt. The basic explanations of the ancient's way of life fuels interest to explore further.

We are studying ancient Egypt this summer as a family, and this book has a great writing style for littler children to comprehend. I can read a section out loud with him, show him the pictures, and know he understands the information. He can draw and retell what he's learned. This book is great -- especially on mythology and agriculture.

I did a report on Ramses2 and I used this book to help me. There wasn't much information and it was the same info.that I got from another book and the internet. I am now deperessed ever since I raed your book. i feel sorry for you.
