This review is from: The Egyptology Handbook: A Course in the Wonders of Egypt (Ologies) (Hardcover)
My 10 year old daughter first checked this out of the library twice & still wanted to check it out again.
I logged on to Amazon & found it, bought it as a surprise & she looks at it & reads it at least weekly. If you want a GREAT kids book on egyptology this is it!

I enjoyed this book and am sure that my grandchildren will as well. I was surprised that it was smaller and less interactive then the companion book. "Egyptology, Search for the Tomb of Osiris" which everyone in my family loves. But this one is fun and full of understandable information.

There are more maps and flaps to explore. I thought it went very well together with "Egyptology"

My 8-year-old daughter loves this series of books. The books are filled with flaps to untie and open which really lends a sense of discovery to the reading. I higly recommend this.

I purchased this book to help with research I'm doing on my next tween book that happens to deal with ancient Egypt. I found this book fun and interesting. Sure, it doesn't have true Egyptology stuff but is more geared toward a younger audience.

This review is from: The Egyptology Handbook: A Course in the Wonders of Egypt (Ologies) (Hardcover)
This is the best Egypt book so far. It has so much info but is easy to read with lots of cool pictures and activities. I would recommend this for people who have an Egypt report due and need info on Ancient Egyptian religion. It has a huge chapter on it. All other books briefly mention religion and mostly talk about the gods but this book talks about the gods and other things religion like temples, festivals, the burial of a king, the afterlife, etc. This book is GREAT!!

This book is better for kids age 7 to 12 probably depending on their reading ability. I am 50 though and enjoyed it,but didn't hold my interest very long. It is cool just to look at and have in my Egyptian collection.

If your child is interested in history, archeology, travel journalism, illustration or storytelling of some description or other, this might be a good book to go through with them.
The illustrations and set up are top notch.
