If you like Parker, you'll like Ehrengraph,

These three short stories are excellent in the "fun with crime" genre (like the Donald Westlake/Richard Stark "Parker" novels) where the reader wants the criminal to get away with it.
The first two stories (The Ehrengraph Defense and The Ehrengraph Obligation) tell of a defense lawyer named Martin Ehrengraph who finds ingenious ways to get his clients off - including subsequent murders to throw suspicion away from his clients. The first story introduces Ehrengraph hired by a mother who wants to prove that her son is innocent of a murder (for which he is likely guilty). The second shows how far Ehrengraph will go in his love of poetry. The third (unrelated) story tells of an old famous assassin meeting with the up-and-coming young Turk killer who idolizes him. The two twists of the story made it wonderful escapist fun. I highly recommend these simple and entertaining stories for a voyeuristic walk on the criminal sociopath side of the street. Ehrengraph is a great invention whom I hope the author writes more about.
