Eiffel 65 at home....,
By
This review is from: Eiffel 65 (Special Edition) (Audio CD)
Before I begin this review I should let you know that I don't understand a word of Italian...but a few years ago I fell in love with this trio from Italy and haven't looked back since. So what's a guy to do when his group releases a new album all in Italian...well it's and adventure...and an adventure I learned to love.
This is an incredible cd. The original self-titled album released last year and a bonus CD with English versions and a few remixes. I'll concentrate mostly on the CD1 which is the main cd anyway. I'll rate each song on a 1-10 Viaggia insieme a me - great opening tune and something slow almost ballad like. A interesting different single. (7) Quelli che non hanno eta' - Wow does this tune jam!!! Fast pounding music, must get the single of this!!! (9) Una notte e forse mai piu' - Another kinda slow ballad song (there are a lot on this album), very decent, great vocals (8) Tu credi - I ADORE this song...it just works for me..sure I don't understand it but I love it anyway..well I mean I do since this is one of the English songs on CD2 (10) Voglia di dance all night - this sounds kinda like classic Eiffel, nice blend here (8) La mia lente - slower ballad song, great vocals, kinda heartfelt (7) Non e' per sempre - LOVE IT! Faster tempo, nice music,no great music, should have been a single...(10) Like a Rolling Stone - English title, mix of Italian and English, great music here...a wonderful experiment (9) Figli di Pitagora - hahaha...it mentions Depeche Mode :-) Great music, great vocals, dancy hit, chorus in Italian, main bridges in English(9) Sopra un palco per tutto il mondo - faster kinda dancy almost 80s sounding piece. Works for me! I like it! Is that guitar I hear? (8) Oggi - kinda like reggae I think. Slower, not bad probably my least favorite track on the album. But still good (6) Cosa restera' (in a song) - lead single for the album, always gets compared to Back in Time. I love it, very Eiffel 65 sounding. However, this is kinda remixed...very dancy! (10) lo e la mia stanza - strong ballad to end the album, if you don't think Jeffrey Jey has great vocals...listen to this! GREAT! (9) All in all this Eiffel 65's best album to date and I thought Contact was that...sure I can't understand the words to all the non translated songs...but doesn't it matter? Music is a universal language and this album only proves Eiffel's place in history as one of the best international groups from Italy. Thank you Maury, Jeffrey and Gabry for making the world a little better through your music. A fan for life!!!

5 stars- what else from E65!,

I don't think it's possible that Eiffel 65 could put out anything bad. I got this CD a couple weeks ago and it just ROCKS. Many fast songs (My favorite song in the whole two discs, "Non E per Sempre") AND slow songs (World Inside my Bedroom). There's also a couple bits of piano which sounds really awesome. You won't put it down, at least for a LONG, long while. Recommended for anyone with ears.

Fun music, no more than that.,

This double-CD album is *fun* in the sense that it contains the kind of music you would hear in an Italian club and which would probably make you dance all night. The songs are catchy, sometimes almost too catchy, and have nice beats. The lyrics are what you expect of most dance songs: they have no real substance and may repeat the same cliche over and over. In any case, when you go to a club, you're not particularly interested in listening to the lyrics, all you want is to dance and have a good time. Eiffel 65 is quite decent at making music for that kind of purpose.
In this package, you find several songs in at least two different versions: one in Italian, and another in English. I find the Italian versions more honest in the sense that they fit the cultural framework better than their English counterparts. Although the translations differ from the originals only in the language, they seem canned for a world-wide market and sound a bit cheesy at times. I find the second versions in English redundant and repetitive; I usually skip over them when going through the two CDs in a straight through listen. The most interesting song, in my opinion, are "Voglia di dance all night" and "Cosa restera". The first of the two has an interesting, almost witty, chorus that visits lines of popular dancefloor hits: "Last night a DJ saved my life, singing ha-ha-ha-ha staying alive... 'cause you make me feel... like that's the way uh-huh, I like it." "Cosa restera" has a similarly infectious beat and tends to get stuck in your head just the same. The lyrics, though, seems like a patchwork quilt of nonsensical phrases such as: "acqua azurra... o alba chiara... un centro di gravita... ed una terra promessa..." If you don't speak Italian, don't bother trying to translate that to English because it won't make much more sense to you, trust me. If you like their "Europop" album, chances are you may enjoy this one. If you don't, well, stay away from this. The music is the same kind of dance-pop oriented, synth-laden, unsophisticated sound that some enjoy in a night club and which others detest. I find that it sounds much better in Italian, though.

As Contact was a slight change from Europop, Eiffel 65 is probably the most drastic. Though, it's not a negative change. The songs still remain catchy and fun, just don't expect the same sound as their previous albums. My personal favorites are "Viaggia insieme a me", "Figli di Pitagora", "Oggi", and "Costa Restera (In A Song)", and the second disc contains the awesome "Tu credi (The Complete Opera)". The second disc with English versions of most of the songs is a great thing to have for us English speaking fans.
For 28 tracks, this is definetely worth the cash. Just be ready for a changed Eiffel 65. Be on the lookout for their 4th album, releasing soon this year.

This is Eiffel 65 at their best. They have returned to their Italian roots but they've maintained English songs for the sake of us English-speaking people, and what a masterpiece this album is. Every song is beautiful. There's not a dull song on the whole album. Even the remixes are incredible, proving how talented these men are. "Living in My City" is an extremely deep and wonderful song written by Maurizio Lobina and it blends guitar sounds with the dance style Eiffel 65 is so famous for. The song "The World Inside My Bedroom" is probably my favorite on both discs, and at one point this song moved me to tears. No lie. Jeffrey's voice is flawless, and when he is given the chance to sing so passionately in this song, it touches my heart so deeply. If you are a fan of dance music, multi-lingual lyrics, or this band in particular, then get this CD immediately! I'd give it 10 stars if possible.

You would think that when a group gets highly successful that they would let money go to their head and stop making great music..... not Eiffel 65. These guys came back releasing their 3rd album and not suprisingly, is better than their previous two albums. I, myself am part Italian and has been a MAJOR fan of Eiffel so it was only fitting that I get this album. I can honestly say that there is not a single song on this album (both discs included) that is skippable. Every song brings its own purpose and meaning. And although not a single song is skippable, I have my personal fav's like "Una Notte e Forse Mai Pui", "Tu Credi", "Voglia Di Dance All Night", "Non E' Per Sempre", "Sopra un Palco per tutto il Mondo", and "Cosa Restera".
This album is definately recommended for anybody and EVERYBODY who is either a fan of Eiffel 65 or who justs wants to listen to some fantastic music. I can pretty much guarantee that you won't be disapointed if you buy it.

this is one of the most amazing CDs ever. It is worth the wait for import. I know no italian, but it is still an amazing CD. A must for any techno or foreign music fan. I think that this, quite possibly, is the most amazing 2 disc set of cds I have ever purchased.

Eiffel 65 made Italian techno. Listening to this cd, one will never get bored because its fast paced tempo will keep anyone on their feet! Don't worry if the Italian language is not in your vocabulary, this set also comes with the translation of English songs as well.
