I ordered two of these. Used the Apple charger and cord provided with our iPhones - NOTHING. Were not recognized by my iphone 4. We tried another iphone 4 and, again, nothing - with both units. Complete waste of time and effort. (Oh, and we tried them with and without the cases - just to be certain). Save your time - look elsewhere.

Should have known better; I ordered it before there were so many negative reviews.
Not sure what this is made for, but the connector does not go into my iPhone 4 or my old iPhone 3G. It appears that the connector itself is the wrong size somehow -- I pushed hard enough that it felt like pushing harder would just break some piece of the plastic. I did not receive the pictured dock. The dock I received is significantly lighter than the iPhone, and the connector is aiming directly up. I'm not sure I would trust a phone in there even if I could get it to fit.

I went through with the return process after a few minutes of opening the packaging...
The base on the unit I received did not sit level on a flat surface. There was some sort of bulge in the middle of the bottom rubber base...it just rocked around. I plugged in the USB cable that came with my iPhone 4 into the back of the unit, which took some force and jiggling around. Then I set my phone onto the base, but no charging status came up. I plugged in the cable directly to my phone and it worked perfectly. So the base doesn't charge. Unbelievably terrible product.
