5.0 out of 5 stars Vital, Precise and Imaginative, October 13, 2006
This review is from: Eight Basque Melodies for Soprano & Orchestra (Audio CD)
Cristian Mandeal conducts Euskadiko Orkestra Sinfonikoa (Basque National Orchestra) with soprano Maria Bayo in a recording of works by Jesus Arambarri (1902-1960).

"The playing Mandeal draws from the Basque National Orchestra is vital, precise and imaginative - an impression which Claves's demonstration recording quality, full and detailed, enhances. The composer would surely have approved his conductor colleague's advocacy..." (Christopher Webber, Zarzuela.net)

On this CD:

1. Gabon Zar Sorgiñak: Preludio Orquestal (1930)
2. Ocho Canciones Vascas para soprano y orquesta (1931)
3. Elegía "In Memoriam" (1930)
4. Aiko-Maiko (Ballet). Suite sinfónika (1932)
