Ignore the Pictures,

Ignore the pictures in the CD insert. Pamela Williams is a capble saxophonist and the semi nude pin ups might distract one from this fact. This is a follow to her debut CD and it is quite impressive. It has that smooth jazz feel to it especially with track #3 "Love in the Afternoon." It is a piece reminescent of Kenny G's style of superflous romanticism, but better. Williams is able to strike a balance between melancholy and amourousness. She is able to hold long mournful notes but could also be a quick stacatto in funky, synthesizer laden numbers like "Scarlet" and "One of the Cats." You will aso take note of the Booker brothers' vocals in "I've got love on my mind," and "I'll be there." It's the kind of woozie songs played in wedding receptions when the embarassed couple is asked to dance their first Mr&Mrs dance. It 's not a bad thing. Overall, this CD has lots of merits and one must apppreciate it , not from a comparetive view but just just for the niceness of the music itself.

This was the first CD I heard from Ms. Williams and I loved it! I love jazz and I particularly like sax music and she's one of the best. On par with Candy Dulfer, David Sanborn, Najee and Kenny G. In my opinion, the best cuts on this CD: Still in Love, the title cut and Saxy-ness. Give a listen...you'll be glad you did. In fact I was so glad, I went and bought her debut CD, Sax-tress.

This is definately a cd for the collection of the mellow souls and erotic beings. This cd is very soft and soothing.
