Don't waste your money,
This review is from: Eight Little Faces (Hardcover)
This book is not worth the money. The first book Multiple Blessings told a story. This book is basically about 40 pictures of the kids a few bible quotes and the rest is all about Kate (the author). The pictures are the same ones I have seen of the kids on the website/show so nothing new to see, the few words (that are not bible quotes) by Kate seemed kind of fake to me. I have watched the show (I like the early season better) and some of her quotes don't seem like the Kate we see on tv.
Overall for cost it is not worth it, even if you are a fan or you enjoyed her first book multiple blessings (which again was much more substantial and worth the money).

Puzzled...,
By
This review is from: Eight Little Faces (Hardcover)
The book was on the aisle in Target so I stood there and read the entire thing in about ten minutes. I just planned to glance at the book, but before I knew it I had turned the last page. It is a small book with little content and interested readers should at least take a look at it in person before buying. Further, I am puzzled as to the purpose of the book. My concerns would be greatly alleviated if on the jacket it was explained that the proceeds of the book would be put into a trust account for the children or given to charity. Any other use of the proceeds of a book filled with photographs of children too small to give their consent just seems morally wrong, particularly if the plan is to simply benefit adults - the parents and publisher.

OPEN YOUR OWN PHOTO ALBUM!,
This review is from: Eight Little Faces (Hardcover)
I cannot believe someone took their family photos and scrapbooked them to make a dollar...oh yeah forgot added bible verses.
If you want to make them richer..buy this "photo album". Next up recipes you can get on the internet for free! Shameless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I Pre-ordered this book and waited months for it to arrive. I am a huge Jon & Kate Plus 8 fan, I watch the show every week, re-runs, will buy magazines they are in etc... I bought the first book and LOVED IT! So, I couldnt wait for this one. After months of waiting, it arrived - I WAS BEYOND DISAPPOINTED! I knew it wuldnt be as in depth as the other book, but this was a joke - most pics weve seen already & hardly any writing! It took me 10 minutes to read it - very very big waste of money. Not happy!

Eight Little Faces by Kate Gosselin,

I was VERY disappointed with this book & feel that is was a HUGE waste of money!!!!! Many of the details in this book were included in her first book (Multiple Blessings). Much of the book consists of pictures with very little text. My advice.....save your money, as this book was a very BIG let-down!!!!!

Shame on Katie Irene and Zondervan,
By
This review is from: Eight Little Faces (Hardcover)
This book is hardly worth the money- maybe if it were on the dollar table, but not even for $10. First, this book is full of pictures people have paid $20/per for at book signings and speaking events (duh!). Second, this is just another marketing tool to exploit the children. I might feel better knowing the money would be put away for the kids-- the MONEY not put away as other things like HOUSES for the kids' futures.
I will say that this book shows just how much of a "writer" Kate is. The majority of this book is in someone else's words (ie. scripture). Kate should stick to trying to mother her kids and spend less time on drivel between carboard called a book.

I bought this book because i read the multiple blessings and enjoyed reading it, so i assumed this book would be similar but boy was i wrong. If i had known it was just pictures and a few words i wouldnt have bought it especially for the price i paid! Don't waste your money unless you want a photo album of someone else's kids!!!!!!!!!

on the Today Show that she doesn't care if she sells one copy of this book (yeah right)! She said it was written as a memoir for her children to have when they are older. You know because having their little lives filmed 24/7 won't give them a good enough view of what their childhood was like.
The book itself is really just a glorified glossy scrapbook. You really can get through it in minutes. Unless you are a CRAZED fan that collects all things Jon and Kate, you can just browse through it the next time you are at Wal Mart. This whole family is just sad. Remember when Kate used to film in sweats and no make up? When she had family and friends visit? Yeah, me either. I just can't stomach the fake tan and dressed to the nines wardrobe anymore. This book was really the final straw.

Please don't waste your money on this book. It's just as everyone has described--a few sentences and photos. I'm sure it will be a nice keepsake for the Gosselin kids but for the rest of us? A waste of money. Very disappointed in Zondervan for publishing this...

BIG waste of money!,
This review is from: Eight Little Faces (Hardcover)
Wow, Zondervan and Kate G. are really trying to milk their family fame for all it's worth. Unfortunately while Multiple Blessings was a good tell-all about their journey with 8 kids, this one is an obvious "throw-together" book simply because MB hit the NYT list and they think people are clamoring for more. This does NOT give more, only pictures, which really, who the heck wants a photo album of someone ELSE'S family?
Read this one standing at the shelf in the bookstore then you'll see why it's easy to PASS! |
