Eight O’Clock original ground coffee is a delicious blend of premium 100% Arabica coffee beans at a medium roast. Outstandingly smooth, yet full-bodied with a complex finish. It may be “original” but it is certainly not boring. The coffee is ground and bagged when it is still warm from the roasting and the one-way freshness valve keeps the flavor locked in. This is sold in pack of four 12-ounce bags.
About Eight O’Clock
Eight O’Clock started as a store brand way back in 1859 when the Great Atlantic & Pacific Company opened its doors and the whole bean coffee that would later become Eight O’Clock was among its signature products. By the 1930s Eight O’Clock reigned supreme as the #1 coffee brand in the US. During this time, one out of every four cups of coffee consumed was Eight O’Clock. Today this remains as America’s best-selling whole bean coffee and is the fourth largest national coffee brand in terms of volume.
Every time you brew a pot of Eight O’Clock coffee, you expect it to be great. And, you are not disappointed--because they put a century and a half of expertise into every bag.

Some months ago we decided on more exotic coffee. Bought a French Press and a whistling pot, and a grinder, and tried numerous brands of fancy coffees.
We set up a "coffee log" to keep track of all the various coffees and the details of the brew (amount, time of brew, degree of grind, etc),
My son has a several thousand dollar machine which makes all kinds of coffee, espressos, and so on, and he is quite the expert in knowing about all the coffees out there, so we had good guidance.
The results of all this experimentation? We use 8'oclock ground, 4 measures to 5 cups of filtered water (important!), normal brew in Mr Coffee. There is nothing that can beat this for strength, flavor, after-taste, and convenience.
And you can't beat the price if you have Amazon ship 4 bags a month, automatically.
There is really no other choice than 8'oclock.

Had 8 O'Clock unblended for the first time in about 3 months today. Lately I have been buying speciality and micro-lot beans and mixing them with the red bag 8 O'Clock. Many micro roasters have been selling full pounds for $8, normally $13. It was real nice to have it pure again. I had forgotten how good of a overall coffee it is. And this from a 36 oz bag of beans ground at the store, that have been in the freezer for 3 months or so, and is about half used up. It is one of the better averaged priced coffee's that makes a good blending base. JMO
Still my "go to" coffee 85% of the time. I like variey, but I always come back to Eight O'Clock Original.
The coffee provides a very aromatic scent in the air when being brewed and fresh out of the bag. It is well packaged, the grounds are sized nicely and it makes a great cup of flavorful coffee. It is a bit on the lighter side so it may not be your favorite if you're into the really dark cups, but for a medium-bodied blend, this is great.
