Product Description

Eight o'clock started as a store brand way back in 1859 when the great atlantic and pacific company opened its doors and the whole bean coffee that would later become eight o'clock was among its signature products. By the 1930s eight o'clock reigned supreme as the number 1 coffee brand in the us. During this time, one out of every four cups of coffee consumed was eight o'clock. Today this remains as america's best-selling whole bean coffee and is the fourth largest national coffee brand in terms of volume.

My brother-in-law has spoiled me over the years by sending me Mystic Monk coffee for my birthday, which is die for, but quite pricey. Because of that, I developed a taste for the dark, rich roasts.

I happened to see this in the supermarket one day, and decided to try it. I've been drinking Eight O'Clock coffee for decades, so I figured- how bad could it be?

Well, bad it definitely was not. In fact, it was very close in flavor to the pricey Mystic Monk coffee, but for a fraction of the price. It's a deeper, richer flavor than the French Roast, which is also quite good. This flavor has become my new favorite coffee. I don't even bother with wimpy lighter roasts now.

I have served this to guests- made in my old Farberware percolator no less- and it has met with raves and accolades. I will admit to mixing this with about a third of French Vanilla so I get a dark but mildly flavored coffee. I've been making coffee that way for years and everyone who drinks it raves about it.
In fact, I just ordered this to send to my brother-in-law for his birthday, since I doubt he's ever tried it. lol

This coffee is outstanding, and hopefully this flavor will around for years to come. I love it!

Remember your first good cup of coffee. I do! My grandmother used this kind of coffee and I’m now a committed 8’o clock coffee drinker at 59 years old.

This coffee is stronger than the Eight O'clock Columbian Peaks, so I don't use as much in the coffee maker. I love the bold flavor.

I love this coffee. Its stout but not 'burnt'. I drink it twice a day every day.
