The good news is that it is dark and relatively full bodied. It was certainly better than the EIGHT O'CLOCK COFFEE 100% COLOMBIAN 96 K CUPS that I tried before this cup.

For twenty years, Eight O'Clock Colombian, ground fresh at A&P, was the only coffee we drank. So I ordered both it and the dark Italian just as soon as they became available. Either my tastes have changed or the coffee has changed but I found the Colombia version weak and lacking in character.

The Eight O'Clock Italian Roast, however, was stout enough and should be to most people's liking. I brewed it at the 7 oz (middle button) size and tried it without cream and then with a single squirt of coffee creamer. It was strong enough to not let the cream taste dominate.

The bad news is that it does not come up to the standard of either Barista Prima Coffeehouse, Italian Roast, 24- Count K-Cup Portion Pack for Keurig Brewers or Timothy's World Coffee Rainforest Espresso K-Cup (48 count).

The package of K-cups describes this product as "A European dark 100% Arabica roast, full bodies and balanced with chocolate overtones."

I like stronger tasting coffees and this one does the trick. As usual, my first tastes were of black coffee, so that I could taste the product without cream as diluting the coffee. Since I normally drink coffee with cream, I also tried some of the cup with a bit of cream as well. The coffee taste still comes through the cream after I added it.

So, overall, a nice drinking experience. I used to see brands like Bokar and Eight O'Clock on the shelves when I was a kid. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time I have ever drunk an Eight O'Clock blend. And it satisfied me well.

I drink all kinds of coffee and like it really strong. I really like this Eight O'Clock Dark Italian Roast. I brew it at the 10oz setting and comes out really strong with a great taste with no bitterness. One of the best that I have tried. If you like really strong coffee then try this Eight O'Clock Dark Italian Roast. I think for most people it will be too strong but can easily be diluted with a little more water. I recommend shopping around as you can find it a lot cheaper than here.

For years I bought Columbian style coffee but I will not buy it again in the eight o clock. It was weak and not at all full bodied, but the Itailian roast, it is so much better. I also would not but this product from Amazon when I can pruchase it in the grocery for WAY less, 18 cups for $5.99, a no brainer!
