5.0 out of 5 stars Relate to an intimate, graceful, persuasive God of Love., January 18, 1999
This review is from: Eight Paths to Forgiveness (Paperback)
Dr. Robert Brizee is a ÒProcess TheologianÓ - his thinking is dynamic! The author is the epitome of theological and educational clarity expressed in clear, simple and poetic concepts. I was inspired by this book and wrote a hymn text from this reading. The "kernel thought" is: "Gracing ourselves, gracing others, is forgiveness in disguise. All frustrations and all turmoils can be healed within our lives. Wounds inside from othersÕ actions grip my thoughts and wrong my life. But I know these harmful burdens can be ceased with Grace oÕer strife." Eight true stories are presented requiring one to come to terms with events that are beyond possible forgiveness. The chapter ending devotionals are gems of poetic thought that review, transcend and transform one's attitude to a new dimension.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Tao of Christianity, July 5, 2000

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Eight Paths to Forgiveness (Paperback)
If you are a fundamentalist prepare to have your world rocked. This is a book about being willing to discover what forgiveness is (it isn't what your ego thinks it is) and the faith to hang out in really tough situations until it becomes clear. If you want a three step process to forgiveness, this isn't the book for you. However, if you'd classify yourself as more Zen/Christian---hang on. This is the "big picture" forgiveness process. If you've pinned it down it isn't it. What is stressed is our part in removing the emotional blocks to seeing the ever evolving process of forgiveness. Brizee, a shrink and theologian, sees forgiveness (and God) as bigger than us or the situation we're in. He writes some of the most radical Christian stuff going and yet does it in such a gentle style that it's almost crazy. Go for it.
