Larry Carlton is a guitar virtuoso who is widely admired in the music world. He has had numberous charting albums over the years, an extraordinary feat for a jazz artist. "Eight Times Up" was originally issued only in Europe and Japan. It was recorded live on January 28, 1982 at Uninchokin Hall in Tokyo, Japan. It is making it's U.S. debut with this CD reissue. The band consists of Larry Carlton - Guitar, Brian Mann - Organ & synthesizers, Terry Trotter - Fender Rhodes, Abe Laboriel - bass, John Ferraro - drums, Paulinho Da Costa - percussion

Wounded Bird continues to put out great titles most for the first time on Cd like this great live date from Larry from 83 only available on LP in Japan until now. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Live "Larry Carlton "is the best way to enjoy his brand of music,If I could get all the live recordings by this great guitarist I probably wouldn't need to go up to L.A.to see him play

I bought the import vinyl back in 83. Finding this re-release is like stumbling into an old friend after many years. It is Larry at his best and almost as good as the live Larry (who seems to tour less these days). Sure there are some hot new players but you don't need to listen to close to hear them playing off the sounds that Larry was making up back in the LA studio scene of the 80s. This CD is a great stuff.
