I speak very little German but love to learn new languages, speak bits of many. I speak spanish and always find new pop Spanish worth a listen. I too found juli by accident I would love to hear this in English as well. I have a German friend who I will ask to give it a listen purhaps a translation to post. good music is just good music the lyrics and delivery set the tone. I was watching video's on another site and found Perfekta Welle witch means Perfect Wave but this got banned from radio in german after the awful sunumi disaster. Jim ...

I stumbled upon Juli by accident really, and I am thankful for that google search, hahah! (I was looking for background info on the house of Julii from HBO's series "ROME". I was lucky to find Juli ;o). Stuck in traffic in Los Angeles I listen to A LOT of music -regardless of if I speak a language or not - And this is GREAT MUSIC. "Dieses Leiben" is the hook of the album. I loved the mood set by this song. And the video was fantastic. Next I really like "Wir Biede" (also loved the video as well). You won't regret buying this album. I only wish that Amazon made it as a digital album (at the time of this review it is not available as a download yet). They look like a happy German band. And that is great. A band that actually has a positive attitude. I don't speak German, but bands like this make me want to!

The female vocalist (Eva Briegel) has a lovely, clear voice. The music is upbeat and catchy. If you are into light rock, I highly recommend Juli. But why read this review? Check out the sample sound clips!

I bought this from iTunes, but would have rather had the CD to physically hold the CD and the book insert. I love the songs. I just bought "Es ist Juli" from here and am anxiously waiting for it. Eva Briegal has an incredible voice and has made Juli an exceptional German band. I look forward to future CDs from them. It would be a mistake not to buy this CD.

When I came to Germany, I listened to the radio of this fantastic group. After finding out that it was a group named Juli (pronounced Yuli) I hurried and bought this album in the economy. The cd has 12 wonderful songs, and the DVD has the making of the music video "Dieses Leben" and more. I would recomend listening to Dieses Leben, Zerrissen, Wer von Euch, Wir Beide. I tried to translate the lyrics, man I got to tell ya that was worth the time spent.

This group is more of a alternative, indi, rock, etc. You won't regret it whether you know German or not, I promise.

If you're a fan of the first album, "Es ist Juli", you're definitely going to love this one. The feel to this album is a little more chill than the last album, but still very good. My favorite song on the album is "Bist du Das". Probably the most addictive song on the album. Great buy if you're into German rock, or even just rock in general.

I was disappointed by Juli's second album, especially after their smash, superlative, must-have, first album. While I would rate many of the new songs as fairly good, they seemed to lack passion and conviction. Eva sounded on this album like she was in a rush to turn out a CD while they were still hot on the German charts. The instrumentals on this CD are clearly inferior to the first CD, much more canned, with less subtlety, and lacking the acoustic surprises so common on their first album.

The one exception to the previous comment about the instrumentals, however, brings up my biggest complaint by far about this album. The last song on the album is a superb, engaging, powerful instrumental, but stupidly, they put it at the end of a more than 10 minute "dead air" space after the next-to-the-last song. This essentially made the last song unlistenable, because few people are going to be willing to listen to 10 minutes of silence in order to hear one of the few truly engaging songs on the album. You might call it artistic and creative, if it hadn't already been done long ago (the Offspring did it in the 90's); I think it was a dumb move to make arguably the best song on the album, unlistenable.

This group has talent; perhaps a new producer, or more time to let the material mature, will salvage the next album.
