I had heard this CD when I visited Germany and was happy to see it available on Amazon..
Loved it then and love it now.
Good music.

...well, one of them. Element of Crime is actually very special. Lyrics are awesome (ok, I am German) and their music is hauntingly beautiful. Though, this is really not their best album. My favourite one is 'Romantik", if you get the chance to buy it - do so!!!

"An einem Sonntag Im April" has some beautiful moments, like "Mein, Dein Tag" and the title track, but for some truly amazing music try "Weisses Papier" or better yet, their first (I believe) German language release "Damals hinter'm Mond". The first, "Damals," is absolutely amazing and can still bring me to the edge of tears over ten years later. A mix of French-style chanson cafe singing and American blues, and yet the result is something completely different. No need to understand German, but if you do, the lyrics will leave you blown away.

Sometimes it's better to not understand a language. Not doing so makes this music hauntingly beautiful. Not always sad, but it just sticks in your brain.

Whether you can understand the German lyrics or not, this CD is a must have for anyone who loves moody, quirky melodic music. Each track is different yet they share elements which fuse this into a highlt crafted and supremely enjoyable work. The sounds of central European urban bliss come through in the mature sound and great combos.
