5.0 out of 5 stars A favorite of our son's, May 18, 2009
This review is from: Baby Einstein: Alphabooks (Board book)
This "book" is actually a box containing 26 tiny board books, each with three double-page spreads featuring an image (often from Getty Images, so they're very pretty, albeit sometimes too complex, in the way Baby Einstein can be) across from the word.

So A has Airplane, Alligator and Apple, with a cartoon, photo and painting, respectively. (The painting of the apples is probably too difficult for younger children to identify as such.)

Our son loves to carry the books around, presenting them to adults to read to him and now, at 22 months, has begun announcing the names of each letter as he does so, which I credit in large part to him wanting to drill with these books over and over and over.

While there are some duds -- X has what you'd expect, with "X" being the third choice in the book, as there aren't three kid-ready words beginning with the letter -- our son loves most of these, going so far as to rip out the painting of a cat from C (oops!).

Although you may have some trouble keeping all 26 out from under furniture or out of little hiding holes around your home, these books are definitely worth the seemingly high price tag. (And I'm a Scrooge when it comes to most baby goods, which I find to be very low value for the price, as a rule.)

5.0 out of 5 stars simply wonderful, March 11, 2008
This review is from: Baby Einstein: Alphabooks (Board book)
These little books are great! Just the right size for my daughter's little hands. The books have many actual photos and some beautiful illustrations. I bought this box set not only to encourage letter identification but, to promote language and reading skill (turning pages/pretending to read). My daughter was behind in language skills and thes books helped enormously.

5.0 out of 5 stars Both my toddlers love these books!, November 8, 2008
This review is from: Baby Einstein: Alphabooks (Board book)
My daughter got these when she was one year old and a year and a half later she still plays with them every day. Besides reading them, they like to take them in and out of the box and stack them. It is really nice that the books fit into the box stacked horizontally or vertically. The box has held up to daily abuse by two busy toddlers. I like the mix of photos, art and cartoon like drawings. I am buying these for my niece for Christmas.
