The one book that changed my life,
By Lefteris Lalos "LL" (Athens, Attica, Hellas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: El Alquimista (Spanish Edition) (Paperback)
At the beginning let me ask you this: Is it a coincidence that three prominent Greek athletic personalities have credited thisbook of having played an important role in their successful careers? At first, NIKI BAKOYANNI, Silver Medalist in the Womens High-Jump in the Olympic Games (although the right word should be Sports, Fights or Agons) in Atlanta, GA(1996). Second, VANGELIS ALEXANDRIS, Head Coach of BC Maroussi, European Basketball Cup Winner (2000-2001), and third, Greek National Football player ZISIS VRYZAS (playing now for Italian Campionato team Udinese. Being a man who loves statistics I can say, beyond any official number of sales of the book in Hellas, that at least 1 out of 8 people I know have read this book. Many of my friends tell me that it helped them to regain their self-confidence or even to believe in hidden powers deep down in their psyche. Carl Young's theories of the collective unconsciousness and mystical coincidence have never been expressed in a more vivid & soulful manner. These theories are called Synchronicity (yeah, just like the 1983 POLICE LP of the same title). I first heard about these theories in the 1977 war movie THE EAGLE HAS LANDED, when German Colonel Max Radl (played by ROBERT DUVALL) is explaining to his adjutant all the little coincidences that led him to organize the abduction of WINSTON CHURCHILL. I read the book a few years back in a few hours time. Since that day my life has never been the same again. Hopefully it has the same effect on you! Thank you Mr Paulo. |
