This review is from: El Cantor De Tango / The Tango Singer (Spanish Edition) (Paperback)
The Argentine contraddictions described through a foreign eye, by a local author.I guess it reads better if you actually visit Buenos Aires and read some Borges. You can go to "el Club del Vino" and enjoy some authentic Tango performance (the music, not the dance). You can sip a coffe at "la Biela", walk at "la Recoleta" and maybe pay a visit to the monumental cemetery... And you'll probably understand the book better. Or if you can't, maybe you can surf the internet looking for guides and picture to pace yourself throughout your reading... I read it in a weekend and it was like going back to the Capital Federal... |
