This is the harmonic equivalent of salt and sand being shoved out your speakers and into your eardrums.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lassie Foundation El Rey a Classic, December 1, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: El Rey EP (Audio CD)
If you like the California sound, this CD is a MUST HAVE. It is by far the finest of the Lassie Foundation productions. It is the work of high-quality studio musicians who know their craft well. Included are some of the finest vocal harmonies along with excellent layered guitar work. It may be an EP but has more great songs on it than most CDs out there.

4.0 out of 5 stars studio wonder., July 20, 2000

The Lassie Foundation have found a rare and unappreciated niche in the endless history of rock music. Starting with the simple basics and straying only for the sly peaks of production genius, they enhanced a hypnotic mood set by their previous releases. A keen ear for studio tricks might be needed to completely understand the music of the Foundation (hence, the denial of the fifth star) but a catchy chorus is genuine. They should be proud of their latest, El Rey.

5.0 out of 5 stars Such information., March 1, 2000
This review is from: El Rey EP (Audio CD)
I'm very amused. From what I know about The Lassie Foundation, Wayne and Eric have known each other long before Starflyer and have based their sound on a huge variety of influences. I haven't heard the EP yet, but if it is anything like Pacifico, it's a continuation of the wonderful pop sound they have alchemized from their many influences. If you are interested in wonderful songwriting and a very quality sound, I have no doubt El Rey is a good starting point with Lassie. And try to track down Pacifico.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everett & Campuzano...Prayer Chain, March 13, 2000
This review is from: El Rey EP (Audio CD)
Everett and Campuzano played in the Prayer Chain for about 10years....releasing Neverland Sessions, The Prayer Chain (cass), Whirlpool, Shawl, Live, Live At the CGBG, Mercurious, Mercury, Antarctica, and So Close...Yet So Far. Safe to say I think they knew each other before SF59.
