Now where do you buy nacho cheese in bulk??, June 11, 2007
This review is from: El Sabroso Fiesta Tortilla Chips, Trio, with Stone Ground Corn, 14-Ounce Units (Pack of 10) (Grocery)
I loved these chips. I am a huge fan of corn chips and greatly prefer them over most potato chips. They hold up better to dips, seem to have more flavor and are all around more versatile.
This is a very large box of ten, 14oz bags (think $5.00 bag of chips, but heavier). Sufficient for a large family's snacking needs (or for college students with mooching dormmates), in other words, you get alot of chips people.
I'm not sure if my box was damaged by UPS, or if the bags have some sort of flaw, but my box was very stained with grease or moisture and I threw it away immediately and stored the chips in plastic totes. I don't know what grinding by stone does for the taste or texture of tortilla, but some people live by it, I on the other hand was just interested in tasting the blue and red cornchips for the first time. I am by no means a connoisseur, but I found the yellow corn chips to be very "corn chippy," the blue ones to be slightly "earthier," and the reds to have an almost peppery sense. These three flavors went well together, separately, and with compliments like nacho cheese, jalapeño and salsa.
In the end, I'd have given this product a 5 out of 5 stars, except 2 members of my 7 member family didn't care for "different" taste of the red and blue chips.

A sad, bad chip ..., February 26, 2008
This review is from: El Sabroso Fiesta Tortilla Chips, Trio, with Stone Ground Corn, 14-Ounce Units (Pack of 10) (Grocery)
These tortilla chips were, unfortunately, very stale even though the expiration date is a few months away. Also, they have a really strange off taste. I opened a second bag to make sure. And I'm not a fussy or picky eater. But these chips are really bad.
This is one place where Amazon's return policy (no returns on grocery items) falls short as compared to bricks and mortar stores. I hate to throw them out but don't think I'd be doing anyone a favor by giving them away and think even the sea gulls may not digest these very well.
Oh, well, I ordered these because my favorites were temporarily out of stock. Should have waited.
