Guitar Master at Work,

I've heard Chris play locally many times and am constantly amazed at his composition, playing and his broad musical knowledge. In his act, he covers new age, flamenco, celtic, mid-east, etc. with original and covers of existing songs. My reaction to this CD was "WOW!". He has skillfully added strings, percussion, etc. to make a truly delightful CD. Sometimes the music carries you to where you think it should, and other times it has a delightful surprise. I strongly recommend that you take this CD to your favorite spot and listen to the last cut. Close your eyes and let it fill your soul!

Chris Dunnett combines impeccable technique, strong musicianshipand solid songwriting on this CD that combines flamenco, classical, Middle-Eastern and pop styles. My personal favourites are the beautiful Yo Se Que Yo Puedo, the Arabic sounding Samson & Dilemma and a wonderful cover of the traditional Maleguena.

When I met Chris and he told me he was a musician I thought, "OK, that's cool." But I've got several friends who are musicians in that they can play an instrument pretty well. Then I heard Chris play some improv music and I thought, "Wow ... that's impressive." Then I heard El Samuraichi and was blown away.I don't have any musical skill or talent so can't speak of Chris' technical prowess. All I can say is how it affects me when I listen to it. Listening to El Samuraichi is like sitting down at a seven course dinner prepared by a world-class chef. Each track is delightful and evocative in its own way. Some are meditative, some are energetic, some are somber, all are powerful. Excellent work Chris. I look forward to hearing more of your work. Mike

A must for Guitar Lovers, excellent work of art especially Malequena. I certainly wanted to see if there was more music by the same artist, but found none...through Amazon.com A gifted artist, bravo! John B., Andover, Kansas

A friend of mine brought over this CD last night, and popped it into my CD player. I listened to the disc, and was absolutely amazed! The guitar playing is fabulous, and the songwriting is excellent as well! I haven't come across another CD which is so unique... I really don't know who to compare Chris Dunnett to... in some ways the CD sounds like traditional Flamenco, although on a couple of tracks it sounds more Classical... while in some cases it has an Eastern European flavor. I hear places where he reminds me a little bit of an acoustic Carlos Santana as well... The CD is excellent "Mood Music" - great to light some candles and relax... and has a lot of tempo variations - very upbeat songs countered by slower tempo songs... and always virtuoso guitar performances!

Chris has, once again, proven his amazing musical abilities by releasing this wonderful collection of songs. The descriptions of the songs are proof that he also has a sense of humor. 5 stars and my fingers are crossed for another release in the near future.
