5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic instrumental indie album. November 28, 2005
Format:Audio CD
El Ten Eleven's debut album is fantastic. They have a very unique and fresh sound comprised almost entirely of bass and drums. Aside from having a unique set up, bass player Kristian Dunn takes further steps toward a unique sound by using a handful of looping and octaver pedals with fantastic results.

The songwriting is also fantastic. To me, it's a sound I have been looking for and couldn't find until now. It's an upbeat brand of overlapping, rythmic post rock. I definitely reccomend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars chill smooth music October 10, 2005
Format:Audio CD
I orginally heard about this band on woxy.com and I loved what I heard. I actually listened to this for the first time on the way to the airport and the entire album is great. It is really a chill beautiful album with a feel good vibe.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Amazing Album December 22, 2007
Format:Audio CD
I highly recommend this album to anyone that is even a hint of a fan of post modern rock, or anyone who just wants something chill to listen to. From the first song to the last, I loved it. The sound of El Ten Eleven can be described as a cross between the meaningful and emotional riffs of Explosions in the Sky and the spunky synthetic sound of Ratatat. El Ten Eleven is just as excellent as both.

5.0 out of 5 stars who cares about cover art? May 30, 2006
Format:Audio CD
Yeah, so it's not an L-1011. Not that anyone would base historical airline research on Indie band cover art...

I agree with the *other* two prior reviewers. Only thing I have to add is that no matter how many times I listen to it, I can't get used to the end of "Bye Mom". Still, not enough of a negative to dock a star.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good times March 12, 2013

What a fun bunch of kids this group is. Light hearted thumping and bouncing revolving around delicious harmonies. If this were a dessert it would be an ice cream sundae so sweet you would get sick to your stomach and smile as you spent the night parked on the toilet.

5.0 out of 5 stars This duo is fantastic February 4, 2013

I'm simply astounded that this band consists of only a drummer and a guitarist with a sick stack of effects. Cyriak animated a recent video of theirs, and if Cyriak likes it I know it will be good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent instrumental post-rock November 8, 2012
By Klew
Format:MP3 Music
Heard about this band on a free Amazon sampler (the song "Cease and Persist"). So far this is the only album I own but it is truly incredible from beginning to end, oscillating between catchy hooks and mellow almost-electronica sections. Listen to the tracks in order for the full effect.

3.0 out of 5 stars In a perfect world this would be bland
Effective if not entirely convincing short introduction to what instrumental rock fans of the introspective variety should have no problem savoring swaying with.
