5.0 out of 5 stars Tasty Stuff
Anyone can do hot, but this sauce also tastes great! Most hot sauces taste like vinegar, but this one tastes like fresh peppers. It's got great kick, so a little goes a long way. My grocery stopped selling it, so I've had to venture online to find it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Quite Hot with no other detectable tastes. If you like just pure heat - this may be your sauce but there are even hotter ones
This GREEN Harbinger sauce is quite potent. Two or three drops is all you'll have to add to a bloody mary and only a few drops more will add considerable heat to any family size dish.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Hot Sauce, November 30, 2009
Great hot sauce but terribly overpriced here . With shipping the 4oz bottle will cost you more than $10. . The local grocery store has it for $1.79 everyday .

5.0 out of 5 stars TJB3, December 25, 2011

El Yucateco Green Habanero is my favorite hot sauce. It is not vinegary, so, while it does have a subtle flavor, it is an excellent choice if you only want to make foods spicy without noticeably changing their already pleasing flavor. For instance, this sauce is fabulous on a good grilled hamburger, barbecue and spaghetti. Let me warn you, though. I only put 3 to 4 drops of it on a burger. You go splashing it all over supper and you'd better have a plan B. The good news is that a bottle of it lasts a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yum! Lots of heat with no vinegar taste!, May 1, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Had this hot sauce at a little Mexican restaurant about a month ago - I couldn't get enough! I love all of the heat without the strong vinegar taste of Red Hot or even pickled jalapenos. I searched around for the sauce in stores but could never find it - thanks to amazon, I can induldge in my cravings for this hot sauce.

5.0 out of 5 stars A staple!, July 6, 2008
This review is from: El Yucateco Green Chile Habanero Sauce, 4 oz. (Misc.)
Adds a great, easily controlled heat and enhances all other flavors. Not a replacement for chili or tabasco sauces - those are startlingly different, and a good chili might require all three!

5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy, January 23, 2012

I ordered this for my husband for Christmas because he always uses it when we are eating at my favorite Mexican restaurant. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to find it online, but I am so glad I did. He was so surprised and excited when he opened the gift.

3.0 out of 5 stars Quite Hot with no other detectable tastes. If you like just pure heat - this may be your sauce but there are even hotter ones, January 14, 2012

This GREEN Harbinger sauce is quite potent. Two or three drops is all you'll have to add to a bloody mary and only a few drops more will add considerable heat to any family size dish.

The Harbinger chile is one of the hottest chiles known to man and in its immature state its color is green. These younger chiles are slightly less hot than then the older red ones.

This is a pure heat source with little flavor beyond the heat. If you really think hard about this sauce you might be able to detect a vague hint of vinegar (which is the Acetic Acid).

Ingredients (as copied from the label): Water, Harbinger Pepper, Salt, Acetic Acid, .... etc

Conclusion: There is Nothing special about this sauce and it offers little beyond a lot of heat. While there are some very vague vinegar notes (from the Acetic Acid used) - there is no real character to this sauce beyond the considerable heat. The very vague vinegar notes are hard to detect.

If you decide to order this sauce --- Watch the seller's shipping charges which can often be excessive and won't drop even if you order multiple bottles at the same time.

I'd pass on this hot sauce - 3 stars are generous - 2 stars is probably more accurate

If you want even more heat then look for a Harbinger sauce that does not list water as its first/major ingredient. There are other Harbinger sauces which are even hotter but I'll confess I'm not a big fan of tasteless but ultra hot chiles

Tastes differ so you may want to try it. In all fairness I gave it three stars just to be fair. Frankly I wanted to drop my star rating a bit lower but, as I said, tastes do differ

I use this on Mexican dishes, rice, beans, etc. I am a huge fan of Habanero sauces and this green sauce takes the cake. I haven't found anything similar in quality or spiciness. Highly recommend if it if you enjoy a nice hot green sauce.
