Nice for Nexus One,

This is an excellent screen protector for the Nexus One. Feels very durable and reduces smudge on the screen by about 80% compared to the N1 screen, which is incredibly oleophilic. In my opinion, the somewhat rougher texture of the protector compared to the very smooth N1 screen is also a bonus but your opinion may be different. Only drawback: the screen is not quite as crisp with the protector as it was without.Final notice: there is no applicator in the package. Through experience with other screen protectors, I would recommend using a credit card or something similar to smooth the film during the application to reduce bubbles.

Paying $6 for a tiny sheet of plastic which probably cost pennies to make, I expect the product to actually be good. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this screen protector. Yes it doesn't smudge as much as other screen protectors, but it dims the screen by a lot, and makes everything slightly blurry, which is disappointing because the N1 has a very crisp high resolution screen.

I totally agree with D.Timmerman, I purchased this screen protector because I got one for my iPod Touch from the same manufacturer and it looks great, but this product is completely different. It definitely makes the screen look blurry and the only way that I got it to look better was by cranking the screen brightness to the max, which of course decreases immensely battery life. The other thing that I don't like is that it scratches extremely easy, so in addition to a blurry screen, you get lines all over it. I know that that is basically its function, to protect the screen, but I keep the phone in my pocket with a chap stick and it got scratched (plastic on plastic violence). I ordered another screen protector and I am replacing it as soon as I get the new one.

With all due respect to the negative reviews here, they need to realize what it is they're purchasing in relation to the Nexus One. Like a previous reviewer, I too have an ipod touch with an antiglare screen protector. My particular model is the 2g and the screen protector I purchased was a cheapie from a Chinese site, and it did not severely reduce the quality of my ipod's screen. What we do need to realize is that pre-4g touch, the screen resolutions of the touch models aren't nearly as high as that of the N1. Since the pixels of the N1 are smaller and more densely packed, more of those pixels are getting blocked by the antiglare layer of matte screens such as the one I'm reviewing. The reduction in quality also differs from manufacturer to manufacturer, but the reality is any antiglare screen protector will pretty much kill the beautiful N1 screen, or any high density screen for that matter--just read any review for anything antiglare for any phone with comparable screens. Even my dad's Nokia 5530 with a near vga resolution squeezed into a 2.9" screen looks horrible with a matte film. As for improving sunlight legibility, don't hope for it--AMOLED screens are notoriously difficult to read under strong light (just read reviews of the Droid Incredible or Desire) and a piece of plastic isn't going to help any.Well, enough for the excuses, let's point out the strengths of this product. First and foremost, the matte screen lessens the light reflected into your eyes so you don't have to constantly shift the screen to get the glare out of the way. Second, oily smudges aren't as perceptible so you don't have to constantly wipe the screen. And lastly my personal fave, your finger just glides across since the matte screen has no hint of friction or stickiness. This specific screen protector from elago also comes with a sealed microfiber cloth that doesn't leave any particles--very nice touch. Now, whether the virtues of an antiglare film is worth the drastic reduction in screen quality is all up to you. We just can't have both great color saturation/intensity AND sunlight legibility without additional or newer technology such as with the iPhone 4, Samsung Galaxy S, or Nokia C6-01. If you absolutely love the N1 screen, steer clear of this and any similar product. If you prefer matte screens, I'd skip this one and go for Steinheil's bundle. It's 4 dollars more but comes in a pack of two and doesn't scratch easily (my only gripe against elago's offering). The first part of my review was really a defense for antiglare screens in general and not really outstanding qualities of elago's product, so if you really want a matte screen I recommend searching elsewhere.

First I am going to note that initially this screen causes fuzzy pixelation. After about a month of use, this pixelation goes away to due to wear of the screen top coating. I've been using the screen for two months now, and it works wonderfully. It feels far less sticky (in terms of touch) than the original screen, and it doesn't look like an oily mess all the time.

I am very dissatisfied. The screen protector has a blush tint and it makes the screen look like there is a small dissolve effect. I want my money back.

I order this item and payed for express shipping. It came in two weeks. It says its anti-glare? No it blocks the sun and you from seeing the screen. It says smudge free? No it gets streaks and smudges all the time. It also kills the pixels. I do not recommend this product.
