5.0 out of 5 stars I love these
I use these knee pads for my work and I love them. I work in the health care feild and I spend a lot of time on knees to save my back. Surprisingly, in my sometimes 10 hour work days where I am running around they do not slip. The seller was exellent too. If and when they do wear out I will buy another pair and from the same seller too.

My husband ordered these for our kickboxing/mma class as we hadn't been using anything up to this point. The came as expected and I have no major qualms with the product. There are two things worthy of note:
- sizing - we weren't sure which sizes to order so we ordered both medium and large and hoped for the best. Well the medium was to small for me (I have pretty solid legs) and the large is a bit to big on the front. But they do work.
- after wearing them a bit during mma work the back does begin binding (which is really hard to fix when you are in a hold of some sort) and thats rather uncomfortable. I realize that most kneepads will do this at some point, but the fabric begins rolling under itself which starts cutting into the leg.
Overall they aren't bad and will function until they wear out (or get really gross)

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Knee Pads, October 17, 2008
I bought these knee pads because I practice my grapples and throws with my bag on concrete, and mats were currently out of my budget. These pads don't slide around on my leg when doing kicks or when moving around on the ground, and they allow full motion of my knee without discomfort. I am very happy with them and if or when they wear out I will get them again.

4.0 out of 5 stars They do the job, August 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I got them for indoor tactical laser tag (similar to paintball, but less messy). After several sessions of badly skinned/rugburned knees, I decided I needed a pair of kneepads.

My main concern when selecting pads was how well they would breathe. Some of our sessions last several hours, and anything tight like kneepads could get uncomfortable quickly. I had also read reviews on some other pads about how they can start to smell after just a few uses.

Now that I've used these pads a few times, I can safely say that I'm happy with how they are in that regard. They breathe well and don't seem to build up sweat.

I only had a couple minor issues with them (which might be specific to what I am using them for). First, the pad part on the front feels a bit bulkier than I'd like; the edges seem to stick out a bit sharply, which sometimes leads to the pads turning a bit if I snag them while rounding a corner. I'm considering opening them up and trimming the edges a bit.

The second issue is that they don't hold on my leg as tightly as I'd like. (Though I suppose this is in part a tradeoff with them not getting sweaty). Sometimes I need to crawl quickly through a low tunnel and they often slide down a bit, or at least shift out of position a bit.

For uses where most of the action on the pads is directly into them (such as most martial arts related activities), I think these would be ideal. For what I've been using them for, I'm happy with how well they protect my knees, but find myself having to pay too much attention to whether what I'm doing will shift them out of position or not. I might get used to them after a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Knee Pads, April 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had dealt with Piranha gear before and the experience was a very positive one, and they only strengthened their reputation on this latest transaction. The order was processed and ship promptly and the packaging was excellent and the hand written note that came with the order made me feel like a valued customer.

I work in law enforcement and look to train different aspects of mixed martial arts on a daily basis to keep myself in shape and prepared for situations that may come up at work. These pads are good for my jiu jitsu and wrestling. They allow minimum impact on my knees and don't restrict my movement. The curvature of the pad also makes it a little easier to stay in proper wrestling form. The Shock Wave Fight Gear is where I bought these pads as well as shin guards for kickboxing and Muay Thai. Both of those products are perfect for my legs which are huge most of the XL or XXL brands are often not large enough but both of these products were perfect for my size.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally comfortable knee protection, June 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've tried four or five knee pads and braces. The synthetic materials make them crazy hot and murder to wear in the heat of summer. Not that comfortable in winter either. But these are perfect. They protect without strangling your knees or baking them. And the vendor couldn't be nicer. A perfect fit all around. (I'm ordering a second pair immediately on the theory that if they're that good they'll get discontinued or sold out.) Now, these people know something.

5.0 out of 5 stars z, December 9, 2009

I'm 5'6" and these feel a bit long, I could use them as soccer shin guards. That's my only gripe. It's really cold atm, and I've been wearing them for extended periods of time just because they're warm and comfortable. I bought them to give to my grandpa this christmas so he wouldn't be scared of falling on his knees first to stifle the impact.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good deal, good pads, September 18, 2009

I use these for volleyball. They offer great protection and breathe pretty well. They do slip off the knees when doing some sprints but smaller pads or less running would fix that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid knee pads, August 9, 2009

I set out looking for good, cheap pads, and ended up on these. I train in a stand up striking martial art, and these are good for the occasion that we go to the ground, or for a kick to the knee. My only gripe with them is that they're thick and retain a lot of moisture, so they can get uncomfortable after prolonged use (especially if you sweat a lot). If you're on a budget though, these are good, solid pads.
