A treasure,
By A Customer
This review is from: Elder Grace: The Nobility of Aging (Hardcover)
Chester Higgins captures the beauty, strength and courage of the African-American elders he photographs. I am awestruck by the depth he achieves in these portraits. This collection of photos along with tips from the subjects on how to get along in life is truly an inspiring book for anyone interested in viewing a piece of history.

I had been waiting since May for the release of this book! It is an honor and a privilege to see our elders dipicted with such natural grace & beauty. Chester Higgins is a absolutely centered photographer! He sees with such clarity. He captured everyone's beauty, emotion, prowess & coutenance. I walk around with the book to show it to everyone I encounter, especially the elders & the children. Everyones' first expression is Ahh! The elders start to reminisce, the rest of us can see how we will grow old 'gracefully'!

This review is from: Elder Grace: The Nobility of Aging (Hardcover)
This is a beautiful book full of words of wisdom by a number of gracefully aging adults. Their 'stories' are full of insight, love, and strong character. The reader is able to see wonderful pictures of those faces os they speak! They speak to the reader's heart and the words reflect years of experience and life-long living. It is like sitting with grandparents and listening to their stories that are patterns to live by. It is a quick read and ends too soon. It leaves the reader wanting to sit longer with the elders and hear more of what they have to share.

This review is from: Elder Grace: The Nobility of Aging (Paperback)
It was like watching history -- love, struggle, joy, sorrow, work, pain, and hope captured in a single photo that magically told the individual's life journey -- the backdraft being America during and after legal segregation. Chester Higgins is a brilliant photographer and captured the life story and essence of each individual. Over the years, I have bought three copies and gave them away as gifts. The images are worth sharing and I hope my new copy comes soon.
