About the Author

Becky Doughty is the author of the award-winning Elderberry Croft series and the voice behind BraveHeart Audiobooks. "I write fiction, mainly because nonfiction is hard! Yes, I've tried. Let's just say I like to color outside the lines when it comes to sticking to facts...or anything else, for that matter. I write Women's Fiction with strong elements of romance and Young Adult/New Adult Fiction. Some of my fiction is written from a Christian worldview (and labeled as such), and some of it is not. My stories, however, are all categorically "clean" or "sweet" (light on language, violence, and sex), so if you're looking for a book you don't have to shove under the couch cushion when visitors stop by, you've come to the right place!"

Becky is married to her champion of more than 25 years. They have three children, two of whom are grown and starting families of their own, and they all live within a few miles of each other in Southern California. They share their lives with too many animals, a large vegetable garden, and a strange underground concrete room they're certain was built for dark and sinister purposes...

I fell in love with the cover of this book, it looked "enchanting" and I found the book itself to feel just the same as the cover. Willow is just as spellbinding to readers as she is to the people in the little community she moves into. Each character is very human, unlike other Christian books where the main character is picture perfect, each of the Christians in this story is flawed in some way, or has problems to work through, each are very much human and I absolutely LOVE that. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good little pick-me-up quick read, but beware, you might also get hooked and want to read the others too!

As a side note, kudos to the author for editing. So many ebooks lately have little to no editing, this one was edited and it helps so very much to the focus of the story when your mind does not have to focus on the errors. If you see this Ms. Doughty, thank you so much, it is very appreciated.

I wanted more, so I bought the complete collection! after finish it all in about a week, I still wanted more! I just have to applaud Becky Doughty for this story about friendship, pain, love, affection, sorrow, happiness, and new beginnings!! many people think that being old means being almost dead, but his book is proof that it's never too late to have the happiness and love God intended for you to have. It also shows you that even when you are going trough a lot of pain and sorrow, healing sometimes comes in unexpected ways, and you need to see beyond yourself to be the instrument of God to help others and help yourself.

I AM HOOKED on this author and on her characters in Elderberry Croft. You will follow Willow as she meets her neighbors and gets involved in their lives. But there is a mystery here. What is Willow's secret? The characters are extremely well written and you feel as if they are your own neighbors and friends. I cannot recommend this book enough. And I know you will be waiting as anxiously as I am for the conclusion of Elderberry Croft. catch vol 1, 2 and 3 now - Vol 4 will be done soon I hope. 5 Stars for Author Becky Doughty.

Actually, I have just a couple more pages left of Volume 4 to read, and I will have finished the whole series - I hope I enjoy the ending. I'm glad I was able to read them all in a row - they were delightful. I've finished them all within 3 days and enjoyed each one. Yes, there is an undertone of Christian beliefs, brief and appropriate to the story; not overbearing at all.

I was trying to think of a way to describe how I felt about the stories, and I think it is the same feeling I get at Christmas time; taking a drive in the evening to see the pretty lights on the homes around the neighborhoods, and getting that fascinating glimpse in the windows as you go by; the softly glowing trees, the quick flashes of color and furnishings and people - there and gone - and all that's left is the warm, fuzzy feeling. The happy glow.

Those who know me know that I love a good story; and I enjoyed these. Very much.

Well-written, entertaining and brought a smile to my face! You can't help but like Willow and all the odd neighbors she 'inherits' when she moves into her new home. While the books are 'Christian', don't skip them just because it's not usually your thing, because the author does an excellent job of simply showing that God is Willow's motivation, just like any other motivation in any other story. You don't feel like she's trying to preach to you or shove religion down your throat. These stories are a true delight to read, and I highly recommend them to anyone, regardless of religion or age. These stories leave you happy, and wanting to go out and be kind to someone... wanting to be like Willow, just like her new neighbors do! Highly highly recommend!

I honestly got this ebook because of its cover. I do not usually get free, seemingly self-published titles because there are so many and most are poorly written and edited. Not so in this case. The stories are magical and the mystery surrounding Willow, the main character, has completely drawn me in. I have gotten the second ebook, and--if it is as good as the first--I will be buying more from this author. Again I must comment on the cover of this and the next book. Both are lovely. I guess in this one instance, you truly can judge a book by its cover.

I am so glad that I got this book, and I am eagerly planning to read the rest of this series. The characters are so alive, so realistic that I feel like I've made new friends. It is well-written, emotional and thought-provoking. It's short, but sweet and well worth your time. I will share this story with everyone I know.

Interesting plot, eccentric characters and start of series I expect to get more and more interesting. Will definitely buy all in the series. She is an excellent writer. Even if I hadn't been totally intrigued by the plot, I would have enjoyed reading this book as Doughty's writing is beautiful.
