Eldest,
By Johann "Ji0n" (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Eldest (Spanish Edition) (Paperback)
In contrast with Paolini's first book, Eragon, Eldest is in the mediocre category. I found Roran's part very boring, and I skipped most of them. Roran's part had no connection to the plot of this book. It was just there to mislead the reader to believe that he would eventually betray Eragon. That USUALLY clever Modus Operandi in the book was quite obvious in the beginning. If you want suspense, try reading the Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie. She meticulously gives all the clues, yet never lets the reader know who did the crime.
Paolini lost his spark, and took a spin toward the more monotonous side of writing. He also added some green-minded passages in the book. "This is an easy way to lose your manhood," is one of them. If that were meant to be funny, he could at least have written that in a more subtle way. The romance between Eragon and Arya was overrrated, and quite childish. "Why are you so cruel?" is a statement showing the lack of experience of Eragon. He had the opportunity to make a famous quote, but he blew it. There are many other bad things to mention, but I'm in school right now. I might add another review later. In conclusion, Eldest was disappointing. The emotions were all mixed up, and the mood was ridiculous. The only parts enjoyable enough to mention were the parts of Solembum, Angela, and the usage of magic. The battle could have been put in better, though. Paolini could do MUCH better than that.

To all the bad thinkers of the book:
People!!! Geez Its just a book!!! A Fantasy!!!!! Its made up!!!! So what if it is sort of copied!,Its not like I see you writing a book a doing any better. Get over it! The book is there and there is nothing you can do to stop it! All you are doing is saying the bad things, what about the good or in you words,NON COPIED?! I really enjoyed this book, and for all the awful things I read you won't convince me to dis like it. Because of all the bad comments about it, it just made me buy the book not vise/versa! Well.... Thanks. good luck with the 3 book Paolini!! U.S, Chicago, IL Monika 13

This book came in mint condition and conditions that the seller indicated me. Many graces. I am charmed with reading, or rather it fascinates me. For it, I am grateful for the seller of this book for providing material of reading to me and being able like that to finish the history that captivated me from the first book.

Star Wars vs D&D Part 2,
By
This review is from: Eldest (Inheritance Cycle (Other Languages Hardcover)) (Spanish Edition) (Hardcover)
I would first like to state, as others have, that it is an impressive accomplishment for someone so young to write a book, let alone a book so large. With that said, I'm surprised he hasn't been sued by G. Lucas for copy write infringement.
When reading this book, put on the soundtrack to Star Wars. Why? As the story continues, we learn the evil nemesis of our hero is also his father! No surprise really, especially since this story is such a Star Wars rip off. Also, the first 400 pages of this book are a waste of time with a side story of our hero's half brother becoming a man on his own. After reading these two cheap Dungeon & Dragon like stories, I doubt I'll waste my time and money on the third. Aaron.

Best book ever!,
By RJ (Blacksburg, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Eldest (En Espanol) (Spanish Edition) (Audio CD)
Eldest is a very, VERY well-written book about action, adventure and a small bit of romance. Eldest is the second book of the series "Inheritance". From the first chapter, I was captivated. It is hard to put the book down once you hear of an epic battle or a strenuous drama. Each scene is explained enough to give the reader a vivid picture of all that is going on, but still leaves room for the reader's imagination. It is a must read series for ages 10 and up that leaves you waiting and waiting for the next book to come out.

Possibly the BEST book ever written,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Eldest (Spanish Edition) (Paperback)
There is no doubt that Eldest, by Christopher Poilini, is by far the best book I've ever read. This book has action, drama, romance, betrayal, and heartbreak, everything you could possibly cram into the pages of a book.
After Eragon, a sixteen-year-old boy, and his dragon, Saphiria, win a large battle in the dwarve city, Eragon is left scarred. His friend, Murtaugh, was captured by the empire, and the leader of the rebellion group called The Varden was killed in the process. Meanwhile, Roran, Eragon's cousin, tries to move his village to safety in Surda, with part of the Varden. Eragon recovers from his injury, or so he thought, and he, Saphiria, and Arya, an elf he rescued a year before, went to the Elven Kingdom. Eragon and Saphiria have a lot to learn, but Eragon's wound enables him to train. During an elven festival, Eragon takes on a new look, so to speak. Will this transformation help him overthrow the Empire? Will Roran save his village? Well, just read the breathtaking book, Eldest.
