Within its simplicity and original aesthetics this is what an album SHOULD BE LIKE. Now days getting mp3 songs is so easy that it has become hard for artist to sell their albums and I say this as an artist myself. Now, as a listener I have to admit that albums like this one is what makes me want to buy them. The art work on this album is exquisite and meaningful, the lyrics are more focused on Serj's mind rather than political issues, yet it lets you visualize different aspects while keeping you interested and entertained; all this concept is well kept throughout the entire 12 tracks of Disk 1, Disk 2 is a bonus feature. The music in this album is well organized. It contains a solid base sound and rhythmics resembling somewhat to system of a down however not the same. In my opinion it has a more mature and refined sound and its simplicity makes it even more of an amazing album. This is somewhat irrelevant to the album but I'd like to mention the fact that the marketing strategy of this album was properlly done and this might not be important to some people but it actually reflects the goals of the artist and his label. totally worth buying the limited edition, plus it gives you access the premium website.

Imagine classic SOAD without the silliness but still fun. There are lots of pleasant surprises from the female vocals on some tracks to the musical flourishes etc. I leave you to pick up the album and discover them all. It is well worth it.

I like this album a lot, as well as the messages Serj and SOAD bring through their music without oversaturating (I feel) as Rage sometimes does. I opted for the Limited disks but I feel they fell a bit short with the included extras. Other than that, the main focus, the music, brings a nice range and is a great addition to my playlist. The videos for the tracks add to the depth of the music.

Serj, you've done it again. I'm addicted to this album. Love the experimentation, love the wide musical scope.

when i first heard this album i was cautious not to raise my expectations
very high after listening to the (sissy) linkin park new album and some other artists but from the first song it hooked me and the whole album
was amazing there is a lot of new things here its not like any past system of a down albums. there is some songs that i didn't like that much but
not because they are bad but just not my taste and they were only 2 tracks
the creativity in this album is stunning and i realized that serj was
the creative force behind system of a down so if you didn't buy this album
yet try it you won't regret it. its something new and refreshing and
most of all amazing (highly recommended) hats off to you serj
note: the stand out songs of this album are 1- empty walls 2- sky is over

I'm actually quite pleased with how the project turned out. I do have to appreciate Serj's interpretation of music. Grant it, I won't give the album 5 stars because I do feel as though some of the intros were similar. Other than that, fabulous job!

For those who were dissatisfied with Hypnotize/Mesmerize with its cringe worthy vocals & lyrics from Daron then this is for you!
The missing album we all waited for after Toxicity...
Elect the Dead is more musical then SOAD, the hyperactive stop/start riffage is gone(except The Unthinking Majority)& replaced with more "Aerials" type vocals & layered guitars, with a nice addition of female vocals that work perfect along side Serj's, Don't stress it's still rocks! My only issue thats lacking is the Drumming John only plays on a few songs but i would have prefered the intire album.

and the build up to the chorus on Honking Antelope is worth 5 stars alone.
I will add the special edition packaging is worth the price, you get a bonus acoustic 4 track cd, code for a special website plus a booklet full of drawings & poetry. I also purchased this album on vinyl which is an Audiophile 180g 2 LP set, sounds better than the CD and comes with a cd version of the album tucked inside the gatefold.

I am a huge System of a Down fan; therefore I was some what hesitant to buy this album. Being a solo album I expected it too be no where near as fulfilling as another System of a Down album. Needless to say this CD rocked just as hard as a SOAD album. I gave this five stars because Serj Tankian does a masterful job on mixing keyboards, drums and guitars/basses on every single album. Again this makes me reminisce all the way back to the first two System of a Down albums. I'd say this is a must for any System fan.

Amazing album! I am honestly lost for words . . . Serj just continues to out-do himself every time! The songs are both catchy and meaningful, and can be interpreted differently. This album isn't all about politics . . . it is much deeper and intimate. The artwork is magnificent! And the little card to the deluxe site in the back is just like being a member in your very own Serj club! A MUST for anyone!

An idealistic genius of a man produced this album. His voice is like an air raid siren. His passion is unmatched. He is the product of that which makes Western civilization so sublime and gut wrenching in perfect screeching harmony.

If only the world was as fair as Serj would like it to be! In the mean time, his songs will keep me company while I fight wars I cannot even be sure are just. His riffs will accompany me on dark roads as bullets whiz by my head and explosions sound in the distance.

One day when the dust has settled I hope that Serj and I will be able to share a cool beverage on a hot day and talk about how things are better than they used to be because he had a conscience and I had a gun.

If only. Meanwhile the clock ticks and his voice hypnotizes me and I think a little harder than I would otherwise have thought.
