5.0 out of 5 stars Excelent book
This book is the key to underestanding circuit analysis, maybe has some word spelling errors but that is not relevant in terms of the correct, accurate and complete technical information on the subject, it delivers to the reader. The exposure of the concepts is clear to underestand and the equations, graphics and technical concepts are correct (error free), I have...

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not waste your money
I find this book a complete waste of money. The book is very difficult to read and understand. Further more, the book is very inaccurate. The Erta Page for this book is large. I've found cheaper books which is a lot easier to understand and more correct for cheaper prices. Save your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars This book stinks., May 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Electric Circuits (Hardcover)
I am an electronics engineering student, and this book is, quite frankly, terrible. I'm being generous there. The concepts are abstract, the jokes are bland, and the online errata pages near the size of the chapters they cover. I think that other books treating the material in Electric Circuits as a first chapter review do a better job than Balabanian does in his entire book. Quite frankly, if this book didn't cost me so much money, I would have thrown it out after I did not need it anymore to look-up homework questions.

1.0 out of 5 stars Find another text..., April 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Electric Circuits (Hardcover)
This text, though complete and generally accurate, is extraordinarily difficult to read and is desperately lacking examples. After reading just one chapter I wondered if Balabanian had originally written the text in a foreign language and then later translated it into english. The examples he provides can be frustrating since more often than not he concludes the examples with the line "work out the details yourself", which effectively defeats the purpose of having the example at all. In response to the comment that the reader from Mexico city left regarding the accuracy of the text, there is an errata page (sorry I don't have the address on hand) which contains many entries. Some of the errors in the text could easily confuse a student beginning to learn the material. I strongly suggest you look for another book.

1.0 out of 5 stars This book is terrible., April 5, 1999

This review is from: Electric Circuits (Hardcover)
I was forced to use this book as part of an introductory circuits course, and it is, by far, the worst textbook I've ever encountered. Although Balabanian covers all of the topics necessary, he covers them as if he were being paid $100 for each unnecessary word used. The examples in his book are riddled with errors, and his occasional attempts at humour are simply pathetic. No matter what other Electric Circuits book you buy, it WILL BE BETTER than this one.

The exposure of the concepts is clear to underestand and the equations, graphics and technical concepts are correct (error free), I have not been able to find and error on in the technical information. If you study this book you will get a solid fundation in circuit theory, that will allow you to underestand the fundaments of other circuits like analog filters . If have about 5 books on the subject, and none of them matches this one. If this is the first book you are buying on the subject I hardly belive you will need to buy another.

1.0 out of 5 stars One of the worst books I encountered in undergraduate school, May 15, 2006

This review is from: Electric Circuits (Hardcover)
This book is full of conclusory statements and poorly defended exercises and explanations. The author leaves much for the student to discover in their own studies outside of the book. I was incredibly frusterated by this book while taking my undergraduate courses. I learned more studying for the EIT exam (which I passed) than I did from an entire semester working with this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buy a different electric circuits text. (it will be better), November 19, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Electric Circuits (Hardcover)
If you have the opportunity to look buy a different text on electric circuits than this one, I suggest that you do so. While Balabanian covers all the fundamental electric circuit concepts, he does this in an extremely wordy fashion that often leaves the reader confused at all of his conjectures. All of the book's examples are poorly carried out, and the text does not have any solutions for provided study questions. Finally, there are an unexcusably large number of errors in the text material, leaving one to wonder whether anyone bothered to proofread Dr. Balabanian's writing.
