4.0 out of 5 stars It really works!
This is my first portable bug zapper. It's pretty solid, and the weight of the 2 D cell batteries make it feel beefy. It takes care of those pesky bugs hovering around. One touch and they're gone. I had a moth fly in the house the other evening and I was able to smack it with the zapper and knock it to the floor before my cat tore up the house. It definitely works. The...

Bought this fly-swatter because I used a similar one at a friends house that was awesome. The only similarity, apparently is the shape. This swatter does not work well at all. There is NO action when you are lucky enough to trap a fly between the racket head and a wall or window. If you manage to get the fly into the mesh, the electrocution is slow and smelly (as the...

The only negative is that the "netting" wires are only about 1/4" apart, so larger bugs may not fit. I would recommend this product if you are looking to try a zapper.

Bought this fly-swatter because I used a similar one at a friends house that was awesome. The only similarity, apparently is the shape. This swatter does not work well at all. There is NO action when you are lucky enough to trap a fly between the racket head and a wall or window. If you manage to get the fly into the mesh, the electrocution is slow and smelly (as the bug tends to slow-cook rather than fry quickly). It does work as a traditional swatter (swinging through the air) but due to the weight, need to be careful of household objects, windows, walls, etc. I guess I'll try it as a tennis racket instead?! Don't waste your money...

3.0 out of 5 stars Bug Zapper, July 18, 2011

If you have new batteries, it works well on mosquitos, but after 8 or 10 bugs, it will knock them down and not kill them. It is then you start using it like a fly swatter.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad everything, September 28, 2010

Where to begin, product was mailed in a plastic bag. So what comes with a cheap plastic product, the mesh was press agaisnt the power grid and the handle was broken to the point the i had to reinstall the power button and put the handle togeter with packing tape. Not to mention fix fhe grids feon arking with each ofher. All of this then find out that the product didn't work all that great or none at all. If you manage to hit a bug you would have to burn it in the grid because other wise it wouldn't. What did i do with it? I left it at a job site for whoever to pick it up. Why did I gave it a one star, because once I press on it unintentionally I couln't take it off

4.0 out of 5 stars Supreme instrument of insect death, September 7, 2010

Okay, I have had very good success with this electric fly swatter. Now there are a lot of competitors that offer similar products and they may work as well as this one, but my wife chose this model. The packaging seems cheap, so I would take away one star for that, but I have already killed more than 40 flies with it in the 2 months I have owned it, so I can't really downrate it too much. The electric swatter has three layers of metal, but enough air gets through it so that you can kill small and large flies easily and this thing kills effortlessly if the flies are just buzzing about. Even if the electric component failed, the metal is quite solid and with proper force applied, the flies will be mortally wounded simply from the collision of the metal to their exoskeleton bodies. The popping noise is pretty cool and you can see a blue/white color as the electricity fries their bodies. Note, this won't work for super tiny insects, only small to large ones. Use this device if you have a serious fly problem.

Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars zappa-licious, August 30, 2010

There are plenty of well-versed reviews more entertaining than mine, but I concur with those that rate this product in the positive. The construction feels shoddy (light-weight plastic) though it is counteracted by the heavy weight of two D batteries (who uses D batteries anymore?) but the satisfaction of literally stopping a fly in its mid-air tracks erases all trepidation on whether this toy-like racket will work. Feels sooooo good.

Point to note, that I heed all warnings of the other reviews, where once the racket is charged, I'm careful not to touch the wires. I accidentally brought it too close to my head where my hair made contact, and it was enough to discharge the charge in the wires and singe my hair. Good thing my hair can't feel anything. For parents I'd be extra careful, since kids will probably want to play with the swatter (bright yellow looks so fun!), so if it's in storage / put away I'd at least make sure the batteries stay out.

Happy frying!

4.0 out of 5 stars Electric Fly Swatter, Bug Zapper (Green), August 24, 2010

This is my first portable Electric Fly Swatter. It's pretty solid, and the weight of the 2 "D" cell batteries make it feel beefy and should give longer battery life than the 2 "C" cell batteries although not long enough. This product works really well for the low price. It operates at 1,500 volts it would be much better at 2,300 volts. It was hard getting the batteries in the zapper.
I would recommend this product if you are looking to try a zapper.

This company was not willing to refund my money for damaged goods. It was shipped in a bag so of course through transit it cracked in half and it did not make sense to ship it back when the item was just $8.50.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible product. Do not Purchase, July 31, 2010

I purchased three of these products to use at work where the mosquitos are very bad. All three products were broken within a week and wouldnt zap anything. The power buttons lost their spring inside and will turn on whenever causing expensive D batteries to run out. Horrible purchase. I could have spent my money on alot better items than this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars pretty good product, June 25, 2010
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Electric Fly Swatter, Bug Zapper (Green)
this product works really well for a low price. ive seen other fly swatters where the netting is small. this covers more space. i do have a few problems. the handle seems to be a bit too thick so its a little hard to get a grip and hold the button down without the feeling of dropping it. also it was hard getting my batteries in the zapper. seems like the batteries were too big? i bought panasonic D batteries. it created a bulge in the handle. now im worried about switching out the batteries!
