The text was meant to be complemented by a DVD and not a CD. Therefore the fast paced instructions and excellent audio quality of the CD fall short.Remember the adage a picture is worth... If you can mentally picture the instructions then this affordable combination might be for you. The pace is very demanding for a starter.

I purchased this book hoping that it would give me some insight as I start using the electric guitar I received as a gift. While I was waiting for the book to arrive I started looking for some information on learning the guitar on the Web. Do a search for "Free Guitar Lessons" and you'll find stuff that is way better than this book - and it's all FREE.

This book should only be used for reference only. Beginners may find this difficult. Does need a DVD. Keith is a great TEACHER. So please do not judge him by this book. Keith's DVD's Beginning electric and beginning acoustic sold and sponsered by Fender are 1,000 times better and shows what a music genious, and great teacher Keith really is.
