Shipping - They shipped the guitar package to me the next day, and in addition, they used UPS "Quantum" so that I got automatic email updates with the status of the shipment.

Packaging - The guitar and amp were each packaged separately in brown boxes. The boxes did have the words "guitar" and "amplifier" so if they are meant to be gifts, use caution. There was no excessive amount of cushioning, but the packaging was well engineered and meticulous and everything arrived in excellent condition.

Quality - As a beginner, I have no specific knowledge about what makes a guitar a high-quality guitar. But as a consumer, I can tell you that the general fit, finish and construction is excellent. To my eye, everything seems very well made (see tuner note below). Considering the price of this kit, I am really impressed.

Tuner - The included electronic tuner impressed me at first. It seemed like something that could easily sell for $20-30 on its own and it looked well made. Unfortunately is stopped working after a few days. When I notified Rondo Music, they immediately offered to ship me another free of charge with no questions asked. The new one arrived after about a week and so far it is working well. The great service from Rondo more than made up for the disappointment of the broken tuner.

If I do end up sticking with this hobby, I will definately look at Rondo first for future purchases.

Normally I wouldn't buy a guitar without holding it first but this was just a starter guitar for my son and it was hard to beat the price, so I took a chance. It shipped quickly and I was surprised at how well constructed it is. The action is great and there are no buzzing frets. This is a much better instrument than the cheapo guitars I was looking at in the department stores. The accessory pack (case, picks, strap, tuner, cord, DVD) is great too. The amp is adequate, nothing spectacular but it will serve its purpose.

If you're a professional musician, this is probably not the instrument for you but if you're just starting to play or you play recreationally, then you can't go wrong with this guitar package. In fact, I've been playing on and off for 30 years and find myself reaching for this guitar instead of mine after my son goes to sleep.

this is my first guitar and it is great, it comes with 6 picks, an amp (with a drive button on it) a tuner, a guitar strap, a cable to connect the amp and the guitar (of course) and a DVD, it is just a great guitar, and it looks really cool, if u are looking for a great guitar for a cheap price buy this one

My parents got me this guitar for my birthday. Well technicly they ordered it and printed out a picture and put it in a box and said this is what I was getting. The picture showed a right handed guitar that was the same as the one shown in the picture (im actually a left handed but they didnt realize that they got a righty) but when I got it it was a totally different color of guitar. It wasnt the cool burnt wood style as I call it, but a cream white one. I was a lil dissapointed but I played it anyway. I did enjoy that the amp would sound like a rock guitar, it is a great practice amp. But if you plan on getting this be sure your gonna be ok with it not looking the way it does online.

First of all I've rarely purchased something and been so impressed and happy with it that I felt the overwhelming need to write a review about it. This is that rare exception! I shopped around in my local music store's for the "hands on" approach of choosing my first electric guitar (as an adult.) I had a few cheap electric guitars when I was a teen but as an adult I've only played acoustically. Now, I'm turning 45 this year and taking on the electric guitar, and the Italian language. Both are right at the top of my mid-life "must accomplish and master" list.

Gratefully I've gained enough maturity and wisdom for the ability to be patient and thus I did not buy just any guitar I could afford impulsively. The Fender bullet was in the price range of this entire package, here. Although this guitar is much higher quality. With this guitar I found NO high action to contend with, NO sloppy glue streaks, NO scratches, or blemishes of any kind. But all I found while out shopping in this price range was all the above=really crappy. Therefore I thought finding a decent guitar for the money was essentially an impossible task. Actually I almost spent much more money on a guitar that I would have been terrified of breaking in some way or another. But with this particular guitar I'm comfortable...I'm not only learning to play, but will also learn to do my own modifications. And if I manage to break it unintentionally somehow, I'm out less than $200. I can simply purchase another one. No harm done...

All I've had to do so far though is change the strings to D' Addario's and did my personal set-up on the guitar. Although the action was fantastic right out of the box. And I'm very pleased with the amp as well. It's more than loud enough if your just starting out. As a matter of fact I find that I must turn it down occasionally because my learning is a "work in progress" after all. And my playing can get on my own nerves at times! (Chuckle) Plus, the strap is great and get's the job done, but nothing fancy of course. This guitar for the price cannot and will not be beat! I did some extensive research and looked around high and low for days before deciding on this purchase. And I'm so glad I did! I wasn't dissapointed in the slightest way. The guitar is both quality and a beauty (for it's price range). Most importantly I'm happy playing it! I've jumped right in, I've learned the "Smoke on the water" riff easily, but I've moved on too much more difficult riffs now. Sweet child o' mine is what I've been practicing currently. The notes I've got down cold, but the speed not so much...But I'm having a great time with it nonetheless...

I hope this review can and/or will help anybody else that's on the fence about it, just as I was...

What a great guitar ! First, I ordered another guitar from Rondo Music and changed my mind ( decided on a different guitar ), and Rondo music canceled my order no problem. I them ordered this guitar, and am very pleased. You get alot for the price. This guitar is very bright, came with perfect action and a great tremelo, which is a feature I was looking for. I've played guitar for around ten years, mostly blues ( fooling around with progressions ) and this guitar is as good or better than most guitars I've owned. Also, the amp is basic, but great for practice. Thanks Rondo Music! AAAAAAAAAAA+++++++++++!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a guitar player of about three or four months and I wanted to get a little more diversity in my guitar playing, learn some leads and things like that, so I bought this electric guitar package.

First off, the package shipped from Rondo Music in about three days. Everything came in two packages in excellent condition. Upon opening the boxes, I found everything mentioned in the product description on Amazon. There was the electric guitar (with cool sunburst color), amplifier, guitar cord, bag, strap, tremolo, picks, tuner, and instructional DVD. All items included were wrapped very snug in bubble wrap.

The guitar is beautiful. It's solid-bodied, the finish is flawless, and the color is nice and woodsy. The wood on the fret board and neck is also very smooth and nice. It has two tone controls and a volume control, all of which work well. There's a pickup selector too, so you can get different sounds from the single coil pickups. After taking the guitar out of the box and hooking it up to play, I found the strings slightly out of tune, but otherwise the action was good, not too hard to press down. The only thing I can find wrong with the strings is that the high-e string has a low buzzing sound. Nothing getting new strings shouldn't fix. Overall very nice electric guitar.

The amp is kind of small, but it packs a loud sound. There are three tone controls and one volume control. As for the overdrive button, the distortion you get is not too good for heavy rock licks or solos, but it works for low-distortion. A bigger amp or a distortion pedal would be recommended if you play metal or something like that. The amp works for me anyway. It also includes a headphone jack if quiet practice is desired. But who wants that?

The bag is well-made and offers some protection. The strap is surprisingly good quality as well. The electronic tuner works great and is very accurate, but if you want a tuning other than standard (like drop D or something) you'll either have to do it by ear or get a different tuner. Works good for standard though. The tremolo came in its own separate bag with an Allen wrench. Since I don't use one at the moment, that's where it will stay. It doesn't look like there's anything wrong with it.

Along with everything else came about six or seven picks, and the DVD. While the DVD is fine for maybe brushing up on some chords, different learning resources are recommended. Like Youtube :D

All in all, this electric guitar package gets five stars, and I'm very satisfied with it. I would recommend it to friends who want a cheap good quality electric guitar. I'm learning some different riffs and licks now, and it sounds awesome. Hope this review helps those of you looking for an electric guitar package.

This is nice, I would buy it again. I bought a sunburst, it has a nice paint coat. Overall I am happy with the quality for the price. The first thing I plan on doing is investing in better strings, maybe a better pickup. Great for the 12 year old kids though :o)

Great guitar. We purchased this guitar set for our five year old son for Christmas and he loves it. It's a great guitar package and great price.
