New Edition of the 20's & 30's Electric Lighting Guide Book, September 30, 2000
This review is from: Electric Lighting of the '20s & '30s (Paperback)
This is the year 2001 updated guide book with new pricing. It features 124 pages loaded with black and white (and some color) photos of every type of electric lighting fixture for the period. The photos are very large, detailed, and sharp. Main topics include Angle Lamps, Art Deco, Bed, Desk, Floor Lamps, Glass Shades, Hanging Lamps, Novelty Lamps, Table and Wall Lamps, and many more. Each photo is fully described with the original catalog descriptions. The new updated price listing is in the back of the book and easy to use. Collectors of this grouping will find the book interesting and useful.

ELECTRIC LIGHTING of the 20s&30s, November 21, 2006
This review is from: Electric Lighting of the '20s & '30s (Paperback)
I ORDERED THIS BOOK TO ACTUALLY LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT THE LIGHTS
OF THE PERIOD COVERED BY THE TITLE. I AM SAD TO SAY THAT I KNOW AS MUCH NOW AS I DID BEFORE GETTING IT.
IF YOU ENJOY LOOKING AT B&W (SOME COLOR) PICTURES OF REPRINTS OF OLD
LIGHTING CATALOGS , THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU. IF YOU WANT INFORMATION TO BECOME A MORE EDUCATED COLLECTOR OR DEALER ,FORGET IT. THE "REVISED PRICES" IS A PIECE OF PAPER STUCK IN THE BOOK. THE LAMPS ARE NOT GROUPED
AS TO TYPES , MAKERS , YEAR OF INTRODUCTION , OR MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION.
I AM AN ADVANCED COLLECTOR IN OTHER AREAS AND AM VERY AWARE OF THE INFORMATION USUALLY PROVIDED IN OTHER SINGLE SUBJECT BOOKS. THIS BOOK HAS
NONE OF THIS . IT'S REALLY JUST A PICTURE BOOK WITH ARBITRARY PRICE LIST.
ABOUT THE ONLY GOOD THING I COULD SAY ABOUT IT IS IT IS CHEAP.
